One Piece chapter 1140 has already set up some of the very best plot points for Oda to tackle in the story moving forward, and quite easily, the most important one here is going to be the games of the Holy Knights on Elbaf. As fans know, the Holy Knights look like they’re going to be the main fighting force in One Piece’s Elbaf arc, and with that, Oda has set them up to be the main obstacles in the path of Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates.

In One Piece chapter 1140, the Holy Knights revealed their plans to the fans, and it is clear to see that they intend to kidnap the children of the Giants and take them back to Marijoa. While this is going to be quite easy for them, they aren’t the ones to make things boring, and as implied by Shamrock Figarland in the previous chapter, the idea is to make the kidnapping of children into a game.

The Holy Knights have already gathered in Elbaf, and it is clear that their goals in their country include a complete takeover. Their initial plan was to recruit Loki and with that, install him as the King of Elbaf, which would be quite easy to do since he was the prince of the country anyway. With the King as a Holy Knight, Elbaf would automatically fall into the hands of the Government, which would spell doom for the country and lead to its subjugation. Unfortunately for Shamrock and the Holy Knights, the plan clearly failed and they weren’t able to bring Loki to their side.

The second plan is more intriguing, to say the least. They now plan on abducting the children of the Giants and taking them back with them to Marijoa. This would give them leverage over the giants, and they could potentially force a deal with the country in order to save the kids. It is also possible that this is an attempt to dull their fighting forces, as the ball would then be in their court for the fight moving forward. The Holy Knights are already near the Walrus School right now, which means that there is only a moment or so before they strike.

According to Shamrock, with their powers, they can make this whole event of kidnapping children and shipping them to Marijoa very interesting, and that is where the new Holy Knights games come into play. It is unclear as to what the game is and what Shamrock intends to do, but fans know for sure that this is going to be very difficult for the Giants to deal with. Especially since they’re nowhere near the power level of these monsters.

Could Elbaf’s Hunt Be Similar To The Native Hunting Games?

The Native Hunting Games Are Slightly Different

Naturally, when one thinks of games played by the Celestial Dragons, the Native Hunting Games come to mind. It isn’t a surprise that fans are wondering about the similarities between the game the Holy Knights are going to be holding on Elbaf, and the Native Hunting Games of the One Piece world. For those who need a refresher, the Native Hunting Games are common in the One Piece world and are held by the Celestial Dragons. It takes place once every three years.

As the venue of the games, the Celestial Dragons choose a country that is unaffiliated with the Government and then decide to eliminate all its population in a hunting game. The prey are marked as rabbits, and each of them has specific points assigned to them. There are some rare rabbits and even super rare rabbits. Usually, this competition takes place over the course of three weeks, and in this time, the country is completely cleansed of its populace. There are also specific rewards, and as fans know, the rewards also include powerful Devil Fruits. The ones who acquire the most points end up winning.

While the games on Elbaf certainly look interesting, at the moment, they most definitely don’t seem to be the Native Hunting Games at all. For one, Native Hunting Games are held every three years, and since the last one was held 38 years ago, it is not yet time for another one to happen. Furthermore, Native Hunting Games usually have a much bigger prey number. For instance, the Native Hunting Competition that was held in God Valley had 100,000 prey, which also included criminals from other countries. Many World Nobles take part in the competition, and 38 years ago, there were 200 World Nobles on God Valley. Clearly, whatever game this is, isn’t the Native Hunting Games, and fans need to realize that.

But, that definitely doesn’t mean that this competition can’t take place here. It must be remembered that the Native Hunting Competition needs prey to be released in a country. For now, the Holy Knights only want to gather the prey. If they succeed in kidnapping the children of Elbaf, they could very well take them to Marijoa, and then free them on Elbaf with other prey, as well as mark the whole country as a target for the Native Hunting Competition. This would then see all the Holy Knights deployed on Elbaf, and similarly, many Celestial Dragons as well. While the idea itself is fascinating, the chances of it happening are, frankly speaking, low.

What’s Next For The Holy Knights?

The Holy Knights Could Face Resistance From The Giants

At the moment, the Holy Knights of the One Piece world want to target the kids. Since the kids are unguarded, the Holy Knights will likely be successful in grabbing them and taking them along. The kids most definitely have to be kidnapped for the intensity of the arc to rise and a target to be assigned for Luffy and the crew. As that happens, fans will most definitely see the Straw Hat Pirates, the New Giant Warrior Pirates, the Giant Warrior Pirates, and even the likes of Loki being involved in the arc in one way or another.

Perhaps, the Holy Knights will be confronted before they manage to escape, as they clearly said that they have to travel by ships since the kids can’t pass through the Abyss. It is also possible that they managed to successfully take the kids to Marijoa in some way, which would then mean that the Holy Knights could go back and request for the Native Hunting Games to be held in Elbaf, making the second half of Elbaf that much more exciting.
