There are a lot of Sanrio characters in existence. By a lot, we mean well over 400. Among this group, you can expect to find tons of animal species and creature types. One iconic animal is the rabbit, with several familiar faces being rabbits.

Here, we are going to take a look at some of the best rabbit Sanrio characters out there. This is based on uniqueness and overall cuteness! Additionally, this is just a handful of our favorites; if your personal favorite rabbit is missing, don’t worry! There are a lot of characters, so some icons are bound to be left out.

Kuromi & My Melody
This is technically two characters, but they pair together. Kuromi and My Melody also happen to be two of the most popular Sanrio characters out there! Born on October 31, Kuromi is the friendly rival of My Melody, whose birthday is January 18.
Interestingly, My Melody’s first appearance was way back in 1975, while Kuromi was only introduced in 2005 as an antagonist of My Melody. Still, we can’t imagine one without the other. While they are both rabbits, both are unique and iconic enough to earn a spot on our list.
8
Littleforestfellow
Based on the name alone, you can expect Littleforestfellow to be adorable. Introduced in 2015, Littleforestfellow is a friend and cousin of My Melody with a unique hobby of collecting buttons. His cute appearance has also helped him place relatively high on the Sanrio popularity poll; in 2017, he was in 19th place out of 100!
Littleforestfellow even has his own catchphrase: ‘nanodesu”. This means “that’s it”, which is strangely fitting for this red-hooded little bunny. On the official Sanrio page for Littleforestfellow, we even learn that My Melody herself wrote his biography, so it may not be entirely true.
7
Ruby
Ruby is a Jewelpet alongside Garnet the cat and Sapphie the dog. Together, these three Jewelpets have magical gemstone eyes. Jewelpets were created in 2008, and while they did rank 36th on the 2024 popularity poll, they haven’t hit it quite as big as some of the other rabbits featured.
Out of all 42 characters and three main Jewelpets, Ruby happens to be the most iconic! In the Jewelpet anime, we learn that out of the main trio, only Ruby is an Acrylic Class magic-user. This basically means she lacks magical talent; when she does use magic, accidental explosions may occur.

Strawberryusa & Blueberryusa
Strawberryusa and Blueberryusa are another bunny duo, this time from the Sugarbunnies universe. As the name implies, this Sanrio universe is filled with bunnies, with the main characters being Shriousa and Kurousa. While Strawberryusa and Blueberryusa, we absolutely love their appearance.

These two rabbits are twins, both born on February 6. As fruit-inspired characters, they both work to grow fruits and turn them into jam, but Blueberryusa likes to throw parties as well.
5
Wish Me Mell
Debuting in 2010, Wish Me Mell was originally designed by the person who designed Cinnamoroll (Miyuki Okumura). As such, you can expect some cute pastel vibes. This cute mail carrier has made quite a name for herself, and even appears in Hello Kitty Island Adventure!
While she technically debuted in December 2010, she remained hidden in an egg until the end of January 2011 due to feeling shy.
Wish Me Mell’s original creation is heartwarming; the character was designed with young women in mind, especially those who feel too shy to express their feelings. Official art and merch of Wish Me Mell focuses on positive ways to express feelings without feeling uncomfortable. Oh yeah, she also happens to be from France.
4
Marroncream
Marroncream happens to be another rabbit from France. This 1985 addition to Sanrio was also created by the designers of the Sugarbunnies (Strawberryusa and Blueberryusa), as well as Usahana (another rabbit!).
Though Marroncream hasn’t appeared in her own show, we do know that he is bright and cheerful, with a passion for baking and crafting. She also has a best friend named Cinnamon, who is a tiny little mouse that holds a clover.
3
Bonbonribbon
Want a cute pink bunny with adorable bows everywhere? Look no further than Bonbonribbon! This rabbit debuted in 2012, with bows on her head, ear, foot, hand, and tail. Pretty fashionable, huh? The ribbons happened to be designed by her fashion designer mom, and Bonbonribbon wants to be a fashion designer as well.
Until she can become a fashion designer, Bonbonribbon is content with dancing and singing. She even has her own dance team called Lily Bonbons, with the members being friends from her ballet school.
We have to talk about Veggie Menu. This is a bit of an obscure character with quite a unique name. Interestingly, Veggie Menu debuted back in 1984. Still, there is barely any information about Veggie Menu out there.

Usahana
Last but not least, we have Usahana! Stylized at U*SA*HA*NA, this bunny debuted in 2000. A lot of Sanrio characters have backstories for their creation; Usahana was originally meant for women in an office. With an Usahana decoration, the intention was to create a colorful and soothing environment.
According to her Sanrio biography, Usahana is as tall as three tulips, and weighs as much as a bunch of grapes. Oh, we can’t forget her hobbies of making sweets and collecting earrings. We’d also like to give an honorable mention to her brother, named Corn. For some reason, Corn is from Illinois, while Usahana is officially from ‘a tiny island surrounded by the sea’.
