While it was widely debated among fans whether or not Helldivers 2 should explore crossover content, this cat is already out of the bag by now, so to speak. So, after Helldivers 2’s recent Killzone crossover, it’s safe to expect many more crossovers in store for Helldivers 2’s future updates. By now, the Helldivers 2’s second crossover has already been teased, though it still remains a mystery.
On the official Helldivers 2 Discord server, a developer from Arrowhead Game Studios revealed that Helldivers 2’s next crossover is in development as of February 2025. According to the developer, the next crossover is still in the early stages, though there’s been no mention of when exactly this crossover will arrive, and which IP will be featured in the crossover event yet. However, between IPs that members of Arrowhead Game Studios have previously mentioned and popular community requests, there are already a few likely candidates for which IP could be featured in Helldivers 2’s next crossover event.

Which Games Could Be Featured in Helldivers 2’s Next Crossover?
- Star Wars
- Warhammer 40K
- Deep Rock Galactic
After Helldivers 2’s Killzone crossover, it’s possible that another famous PlayStation-exclusive franchise could be next in line. However, since Helldivers 2 has only released one official crossover so far, this isn’t necessarily enough to speculate on a pattern just yet. Instead, one thing to consider when predicting Helldivers 2’s upcoming crossover event is comments made by Arrowhead Game Studios’ CCO, Johan Pilestedt (who is currently taking a sabbatical), as well as alleged comments from other members of Arrowhead Game Studios.
Arrowhead Game Studios’ CCO Shares Helldivers 2 Dream Crossovers
On Pilestedt’s Twitter/X account, several IPs for potential crossovers have been explicitly mentioned by now, notably including Star Wars and Warhammer 40K. While Pilestedt has since stepped away from his as Creative Director for Helldivers 2, he remains at Arrowhead Game Studios as the CCO, meaning these could still be likely candidates for Helldivers 2’s upcoming crossover event.
Helldivers 2’s Most Popular PC Mods Make the Case for an Official Star Wars Crossover
Among the IPs mentioned by the CCO of Arrowhead Game Studios and former Creative Director of Helldivers 2, Star Wars and Warhammer 40K arguably stand out as some of the most likely candidates for future Helldivers 2 crossovers. For Star Wars, content inspired by this IP was one of the very first PC mods for Helldivers 2, and remains among some of the most downloaded mods for the game, indicating a high demand among fans for an official collaboration.
Helldivers 2 Leaks Point Towards a Warhammer 40K Crossover
Warhammer 40K is also a popular IP among Helldivers 2’s modding community for unofficial crossover content. Additionally, a recent leak via IronS1ghts suggests that a crossover between Warhammer 40K and Helldivers 2 is only a matter of time anyway. According to the leaks, a weapon similar to the Warhammer 40K franchise’s chain sword has been found in Helldivers 2’s game files.
Deep Rock Galactic Developers Are Hopeful for a Helldivers 2 Crossover
Another potential collaboration that Arrowhead Game Studios has allegedly acknowledged is a Helldivers 2 crossover with Deep Rock Galactic. As reported by GamesRadar, Deep Rock Galactic developers at Ghost Ship Games once streamed Helldivers 2 and discussed what a potential crossover with Helldivers 2 could look like, which caught the attention of Arrowhead Game Studios to reach out in the stream’s chat.
Ultimately, given the existing demand among fans for crossovers with Star Wars, Warhammer 40K, and Deep Rock Galactic, official crossover events with any or all of these IPs seem like a recipe for success. Throughout many of Helldives 2’s recent updates, Arrowhead Game Studios has been known to consider players’ feedback and requests, so, especially after Arrowhead Game Studios explicitly acknowledged potential collaborations with most of these IPs, these are all likely candidates for Helldivers 2’s upcoming crossover.
