LG Enters Cloud Gaming with New Smart TV App

LG has entered the cloud gaming space with its new Gaming Portal that lets you stream games directly on an LG smart TV on essentially any webOS-powered screen. It makes use of the different cloud gaming services to create an all-in-one platform that gives users access to a range of AAA, casual, and social games. This means compatible webOS-powered display owners will not need a console or a PC to enjoy the latest games that are available for streaming.

LG Gaming Portal Hub

The Gaming Portal is a hub available right on the Home Screen, and offers a curated collection of apps that include cloud gaming apps, webOS app games playable with the remote control, recently played games, editor’s picks, top 10 trending games, and other personalized gaming options. The games are curated based on different cloud gaming services, such as Nvidia GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Boosteroid, and Blacknut. LG says that Xbox Cloud will be added soon as well.

The ’My Page’ tab also tracks achievements, badges, and more. Here, you can also create a personalized list of games for easier access. It tracks and shows a comprehensive summary of progress, points earned, levels, and tier upgrades that are based on the user’s activity within the Gaming Portal. There is also an option to sort the collection based on ‘Play with Remote Control’ or ‘Play with Game Pad’ filters.
