The Devil Flags are one of the most dangerous pirate crews in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii. Majima encounters the Devil Flags’ brutality early on when they forcibly take the Pharaoh Stone from its rightful owner, leaving Misaki without her father and a new thirst for revenge.

Adding naval combat into Like a Dragon is a bold move that pays off incredibly well.
However, Majima isn’t known for letting evil deeds go unpunished, as he and the crew embark on a mission to avenge Misaki’s father and reclaim the Pharaoh Stone. However, to regain the stone and end the Devil Flags’ reign of terror, Majima will need to collect the four Dark Instruments along the way to use against these vicious pirates.
How To Get The Dark God’s Violin
First, you must advance the story through Chapter Two to the point where Jason suggests you go to meet an old friend of his for help. Unfortunately, the Devil Flags get to him first and steal a precious treasure from him, leaving his daughter, Misaki, to avenge her father’s death and get the Pharaoh Stone back.
To get your hands on the first dark instrument, you need to hunt down the Devil Flags Fleet and track them along the eastern side of the Waters Near Madlantis.
After you defeat the boss ship and sweep aside their forces, you’ll gain access to the first Dark Instrument – the Dark God’s Violin.
With the Dark God’s Violin in hand, you’ll track the Devil Flags to Rokka Island, where you can continue your quest to avenge Misaki’s father by engaging in an all-out 100-person brawl with some of the Devil Flags’ finest men.
Once you defeat the men on this island, you’ll be introduced to your true adversaries, the captains of the Devil Flags: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus.
How To Get The Dark God’s Ocarina
To gain access to the next location where you’ll find a Dark Instrument, you must earn 70 Devil Flags by defeating boss ships and plundering occupied treasure islands.
Next, you’ll need to fight your way to the marked northern island unlocked on your map – Atali Island. Here, you must fight your way through a series of small battles to claim the Dark God’s Ocarina from the treasure chest at the end.
Once you claim it, you’ll be challenged by Captain Yakuza – one of the four Officers of the Devil Flags – who intercepts you and Misaki as you celebrate unearthing your rare treasure.
Beat up Captain Yakuza and his men to claim the Ocarina for your own. You’ll also get one step closer to retrieving the Pharaoh Stone.
How To Get The Dark God’s Guitar
Captain Yakuza commits to atoning and tells you that the next location to meet him and reclaim the Pharaoh Stone is the nearby Hans Island.
When you get to Hans Island, you’ll meet Captain Yakuza again, who will seem to hold up his end of the bargain with the stone. However, Misaki immediately realizes it’s a fake and that Captain Yakuza is playing them.
A fight breaks out between Captain Yakuza’s men and your crew again, leading to your second large-scale battle of this questline.
Once you defeat the 100-enemy crew, you’ll finally get the truth out of Captain Yakuza: Zeus is heading to Flame Heaven, a nearby volcanic island.
After the brief appearance of Captain Shinobi (who kills Captain Yakuza), you can finally head to Flame Heaven.
However, Misaki warns you that you shouldn’t attempt to go after Captain Ronin unless you’ve attained Pirate Rank Three, so consider the difficulty before progressing further.
You’ll also need at least 130 flags collected to gain access.
Sail to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse and, after the cutscene, prepare to fight your way through a gauntlet of treasure islands – Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat – before reaching the Devil Flags Second Fleet, which you must defeat to gain passage to Flame Island.
You don’t strictly need to fight these islands yet, but doing so now will ensure you have the required flags needed to access the areas to come.
With the Samurai First Mate defeated, head to Flame Island where you’ll need your strongest crew mates – preferably Saejima, Jason, Masaru, and Minami – to take on Captain Ronin.
After a few smaller battles, you’ll be face-to-face with Captain Ronin and his crew at the end of a fiery pass.
Luckily, Captain Ronin’s crew is much smaller than 100 men, so you can use the Dark God of the Deep Curse of the Electrifying Jellyfish (the Dark God’s Ocarina effect) to paralyze and defeat most of them at once.
After Misaki takes care of the dangerous second captain, your attention turns to Captain Beef and the chest containing the third Dark Instrument: the Dark God of the Earth’s Guitar.
With the Dark God’s Guitar in hand and 10,000 more dollars in your pocket, you can make your way to the next island: Frost Heaven.
How To Get The Dark God’s Saxophone
You must be Pirate Rank Four and have collected 220 or more flags to gain entry.
Sail to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse and witness the cutscene before continuing your trek toward the Devil Flags First Fleet blocking the way to Frost Island.
Along your way, you’ll come across four islands: Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial Island, along with a Devil Flags First Fleet boss ship in addition to the one blocking Frost Island.
If you did all the previous location’s islands, you don’t need to complete every one here and vice versa.
Defeat Captain Shinobi’s First Fleet and disembark to face his forces on Frost Island, where you’ll encounter a series of battles through the snow leading into a cave.
Fight your way through the caves, then come out to face a few more enemies in a clearing, then continue to the recovery point where a showdown against Captain Shinobi and his men awaits.
Once they’re defeated, you’ll be revisited by Captain Ronin who claims revenge over Shinobi (the one who killed Captain Yakuza) and tells you to expect Zeus at Final Heaven, his last hideaway.
You’ll also receive the fourth and final Dark Instrument: the Dark God’s Saxophone, along with $50,000.
The Saxophone of the Dark God of the Skies is a powerful instrument that summons a large bird ally who sends your enemies swirling away with a massive gust of air.
How To Finish The Pirate Questline
Before you can head to Final Heaven, you must reach Pirate Rank Five and have collected 330 flags.
Misaki will be gone from your crew until you rescue her, so set out to help ASAP if you want her back.
Luckily, the path to the final encounters is much shorter here, with only two lighthouses before you reach the Main Fleet guarding Heavenly Island.
Take out Captain Zeus’s legendary main fleet with your well-upgraded Goromaru, avoiding the mortar attack at all costs, as even the most powerful ships will crumble to them.
Once you finish this challenging two-part battle, Misaki will rejoin your crew and become available to add to her former spot on your ship.
It’s time to disembark on Heavenly Island with your four best crew members to settle the score with Zeus.
Saejima, Jason, Masaru, and Nishida (or Minami) are the best crew members for this ultimate battle.
Fight from the beaches through the wooden dock area, and up a ladder to higher, greener pastures.
Head into the metal door and follow the highlighted gold path on the map into a new area where you can restore your health once you pass through another door back outside.
Here, you’ll finally be face-to-face with Captain Zeus. Witness his transformation, then unleash the Curse of the Cyclonic Avian using the Dark God’s Saxophone, dispatching most of the enemies and putting a dent in Zeus’s health bars.
Pelt Zeus from a distance, then use your Chain Hook ability in the Sea Dog style to close the gap and inflict serious damage on Zeus in unison with your crew.
Once he’s defeated, enjoy the final cutscene featuring the Pharaoh Stone, and take your newly acquired Dark Instruments out for a spin.
