With the arrival of The Thing and Human Torch, players can now experience the full power of The Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals. Like Mister Fantastic, Human Torch is a Duelist, serving as his team’s primary damage dealer.

Excelling in long-range combat and zone control, Human Torch uses his flight and damage-over-time abilities to keep enemies at bay. While he isn’t the most challenging hero to learn, mastering his playstyle takes practice. In this guide, we’ll show you how to wield his blazing firepower to dominate the battlefield in Marvel Rivals.

Human Torch Abilities in Marvel Rivals

  • Base Health: 250
  • Difficulty Rating: 3 Stars
  • Team Role: Duelist

As a Duelist, Human Torch excels at dishing out damage from a distance. He is a Flyer hero, similar to Iron Man and Storm. However, since he lacks any real escape abilities, you’ll need to be extremely careful how you position during fights. It’s easy for the enemy team to focus you down if you stay in the open for too long.

The following table explains how Human Torch’s abilities work in Marvel Rivals.

Ability Name

Ability Type

Description

Fire Cluster

Primary Attack

Launch a fireball that splits into multiple projectiles

Blazing Blast

Secondary Attack

Launch a fireball that creates a Flame Field at the targeted area, dealing damage over time.

Flaming Meteor

Activated Ability

Dive toward the ground quickly, dealing damage to enemies and detonating any Flame Fields hit.

Plasma Body

Dash Ability

Human Torch gains bonus movement speed as long as the ability button is held. Drains energy that recovers automatically when the ability is not in use.

Pyro-Prison

Activated Ability

Form a wall of fire between active Flame Fields on the ground to burn enemies. If you form a triangle of Flame Fields and activate Pyro-Prison, enemies inside the triangle take continuous damage.

Storm Siblings

Team-Up Ability

When the Invisible Woman is on the team, Human Torch can activate Storm Siblings to continually generate Bonus Health for any health he loses for a duration.

Omega Fire

Team-Up Ability

When Storm is on the team and Human Torch uses Supernova, Storm can summon an Omega Fire by selecting a Flame Tornado with an Omega Hurricane. Inversely, Human Torch can activate Supernova during Storm’s Omega Hurricane to transform it into a Burning Hurricane. Additional Flame Tornados that are near the Burning Hurricane will cause it to grow in size and deal more damage.

Supernova

Ultimate Ability

Human Torch explodes, dealing AOE damage to enemies within range. After activating Supernova, all Flame Fields on the field, including the ones that Human Torch creates using Blazing Blast, will transform into Flame Tornados, dealing additional damage until the ability duration expires.

Pyro-Prison ability can’t be cast if there are no Flame Fields on the field.

How to Play Human Torch in Marvel Rivals

Despite his three-star difficulty rating, learning Human Torch isn’t too difficult. His abilities are pretty straightforward. While his Primary Attack has a big spread from a distance, if you get close to an enemy it almost all of them hit consistently. On top of that, his attacks can also crit, allowing you to deal massive damage if you get a headshot.

Remember to use the combo of Blazing Blast and Pyro-Prison to control objectives or chokepoints. It’s almost always better to use three Blazing Blasts to create a triangle. Then you can hit Pyro-Prison and enemies that get inside the triangle will take constant damage over time.

While Flaming Meteor is a high-damage nuke, you should hold off on using it any time it’s off cooldown. Human Torch is a pretty slow hero despite being a Flyer. Since Flaming Meteor gets you in range of even a melee hero, you become an easy target for a few seconds after using it. It’s best used to catch a fleeing hero on low hp or as a killing blow on multiple targets.

Mastering the Human Torch in Marvel Rivals will certainly take some practice. But with the right positioning and ability combos, you can start to dominate the battlefield in no time. Flame On!
