Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded is reportedly causing significant issues for PlayStation 5 users, with players taking to social media to report a severe drop in frames per second since the update. The mid-season refresh for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was deployed on February 20, bringing plenty of new content to Treyarch Studios’ latest shooter. Unfortunately, the update also seems to have brought plenty of new bugs and issues along with it.
While Multiplayer and Zombies fans were treated to a whole host of new content with the launch of Season 2 Reloaded, the same couldn’t be said for Warzone players. Ever since the release of Season 1 and Warzone‘s simultaneous integration with Black Ops 6, fans have complained of bugs, glitches, performance issues, and a serious problem with cheaters. To combat these issues, Activision confirmed it would be dedicating the current season to bug fixes, gameplay tuning, and quality-of-life improvements. Although this is excellent news for players, it did result in Warzone receiving practically no content for Season 2. Now, the problems keep on coming for Call of Duty players, as the game’s latest update has caused even more issues.

Black Ops 6 Players Report PS5 FPS Drops After New Update
Ever since Call of Duty‘s big Season 2 Reloaded update was released, numerous posts have begun appearing on social media, with players reporting a serious issue on PlayStation 5. While there has been no word from Treyarch Studios on the matter, players are claiming that the game’s mid-season update is causing some severe frame drops on the console, with one user stating that almost “every game” has stuttering frames, while another user said the FPS drops are “horrid.” In response, Reddit user Maneii99 said they are experiencing a similar problem on the PS5 Pro, specifically on Black Ops 6‘s newest map, Grind. There seems to be various users claiming the remastered Black Ops 2 map is the culprit, but some say it’s happening on every map in the game.
Sadly, this isn’t the only issue caused by the game’s mid-season update. Shortly after Season 2 Reloaded was released, Treyarch Studios dropped yet another Call of Duty update that aimed to address some of the main problems caused by the previous patch. For both Multiplayer and Warzone players, the second update rectified an issue that caused all of the newest weapon nerfs and buffs not to behave as expected. Treyarch also reenabled the challenge tracker widget in Black Ops 6 after it was disabled with the Season 2 Reloaded update, addressed various stability issues, and more.
Season 2 Reloaded also resulted in a ton of different leaks surrounding Season 3, with the most notable reveal being that Verdansk has now been added to Warzone‘s in-game files. Activision had already confirmed that the fan-favorite map would be returning in Spring 2025 but has yet to announce an exact release date. While various insiders have claimed it would be returning with Season 3 in March, those rumors now seem to be increasingly likely with the map officially being added to the game’s files.
