Given that Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is dedicated to Goro Majima, it may come as no surprise that his longtime kyodai, Saejima Taiga, makes a major appearance. While it takes a few chapters for Saejima to show up on the scene, it gives Majima plenty of time to put down roots in his new pirate-themed life.

Adding naval combat into Like a Dragon is a bold move that pays off incredibly well.

Saejima struggles to reach the man he once called his kyodai, a title Majima thoroughly rejects in favor of being called “captain.” However, Saejima doesn’t give up easily, as there are a handful of opportunities to speak with him via his Bond Chats, once Saejima officially joins your crew in Chapter Four.

Where To Find Saejima Taiga’s Bond Chats

The Goro Pirates' Bonds list in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii.

To gain access to Saejima Taiga’s Bond Chats, you must first recruit him by progressing the main story until he officially joins your crew early in Chapter Four. With Saejima aboard the Goromaru, all five of his Bond Chats will immediately be available at lighthouses across the world.

The five Bond Chats are:

  1. Brothers
  2. A Beautiful Fin
  3. Preserving Memories
  4. Batting Buddies
  5. Fight For the Mic

Each of these Bond Chats offers a brief conversation with Saejima as he struggles to find something to pull the old Majima out of his new pirate facade. Saejima believes his kyodai is deep down in Majima’s subconscious, and his dialogue highlights his struggle to bring it out.

Most of the chats are found in Hawaii and Madlantis.

  • The first chat, “Brothers”, (like all of Saejima’s Bond Chats), unlocks immediately after Taiga joins your crew. It is found at the South Madlantis Lighthouse, in the Waters Near Madlantis. You have a time-sensitive choice to tell Saejima “Yeah.” or “Ain’t No Way” when he asks if you thought that you were both related by blood, rather than Yakuza ties.

After the five Bond Chats conclude, Saejima will immediately invite Majima out to a round of drinks. To begin Saejima Taiga’s Drink Link, head down to the Crew Quarters via the hatch on deck or in the Captain’s Quarters.

Saejima will be standing against a wall with an anchor on it, behind Minami and Nishida, and beside Masaru Fujita.
