Like a Dragon’s pirate spin off is fully committed to sea-faring adventures, in ways video games rarely are.
There are seven Golden Balls to find in order to have your wish granted (Dragon Ball reference, get it?) and they’re hidden in Honolulu and Madlantis. You’ll have little clues as to where to find them, but if you’re still struggling to track them all down, we’ve got you covered.
How To Unlock ‘When You Wish Upon Some Balls Substory’
After starting Chapter Three, Captain Beef will approach you when you leave Revolve Bar and you’ll automatically be given the ‘When You Wish Upon Some Balls’ substory.
You’ll then receive a message on your phone from Shen that gives you a clue as to the whereabouts of each Golden Ball. You can view this at any time in the Menu, Smartphone, and then ‘Messages’.
Golden Ball Locations
When you’re close to a Golden Ball, not only will nearby NPCs be commenting on it, but Noah will also remark that there is something nearby, similar to when you are close to Treasure. All but one Golden Ball must be retrieved with the Chain Hook.
Unlike in the Man Who Erased His Name, the Golden Balls will not appear until you have started the substory relevant to them.

Golden Ball #3 – Seaside Avenue Pool
The third Golden Ball can be found in the crotch of a Sicko bathing beside the Seaside Avenue Pool. You can’t actually enter the pool area, so you have to grab it through one of the window sections.
Seaside Avenue is a street heading north from Aloha Street, on the eastern side of Honolulu, and the pool can be found just north of the Pigeon Family Market.

Golden Ball #4 – Pawn Shop Masked Doll
Your next stop is Treasure Select Pawn, where you’ll see the masked mannequin in the window has a rather shiny addition. You can’t grab it from outside the store because of the glass, so you’ll have to go inside and claim your prize.
There is more than one Treasure Select Pawn and each one has one of these mannequins in the window, but only one has the Golden Ball. The shop you want to visit is the one on Hula Avenue, on the eastern side of the Honolulu map.

Golden Ball #5 – Man Chasing Sickos
This is the only Golden Ball that isn’t found hidden in the environment as it is instead a reward you can purchase as part of the Sicko Snap mini game.
If you haven’t unlocked Sicko Snap already, you can start the ‘Snap Those Sickos! Again!’ substory at the Aloha Beach Trolley Stop, just north of the beach itself. Once you have completed this substory, Kuroki will always be sitting at this Trolley Stop and you can access his store where you can exchange your Sicko Snap points.
The Golden Ball requires 3,333 points to purchase, which is easily achievable within a single game of Sicko Snap.

Golden Ball #6 – Freak On Top Of Dunghill
You’ll need to head to Madlantis for the final two balls. The first one can be found in the crotch of a strange man above the Dunghill bar. You’ll have to take the stairs to the right of the bar to access the area above it, then look up behind where you entered this upper area from, and you’ll see your target in front of the green panelling.
Dunghill is located in the northeast of the Madlantis map.

Golden Ball #7 – Sweaty Man Near The Coliseum
It’s time to snag that final Golden Ball. It’s found in the crotch of a man speaking with a woman near the Pirate’s Coliseum. Take the path right of the Coliseum and then your target will be on your left.
The Pirate’s Coliseum cannot be missed and is on the eastern side of the Madlantis map.
After collecting two of the seven balls, you’ll unlock the ‘Not Counting the Usual Ones’ achievement/trophy.
All Wishes And Their Outcomes
Once you’ve gathered up all seven balls, you’ll receive a message from Shen asking you to meet him in Honolulu. He can be found on the southwestern side of the Honolulu map in the corner of the dock area. Once you deliver the balls, you’ll be offered a wish, but there are a few options with differing outcomes.
I want a normal, peaceful life. |
Unfortunately, Shen says he can’t help with this and you’ll be prompted to pick again. |
---|---|
I want endless riches. |
You’ll receive $10,000. Note: If you want money, you’re better off asking for sexy panties as you’ll get more money from this option. |
I want eternal life. |
You’ll receive Staminan X x100. |
I want sexy panties. |
You’ll receive Shen-san’s Panties, which sell for $15,000. |
Regardless of your choice, Shen will also join the Goro Pirates as a new crew member.
