The Last of Us season 2 returns in just a few short months and fans can’t wait until they can finally witness what the episodes will entail with Abby, Joel and Ellie after that season one cliffhanger. Although much of season 2’s story is left a mystery to those who haven’t played Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2, the TV show will follow much of its narrative but with some expected surprises along the way.
The Last of Us stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie, main characters from the post-apocalyptic video game series who were thrown together whether they liked it or not. Season one of the HBO series covered the first The Last of Us game, while season two will take on the story of The Last of Us Part 2. Even though season one introduced its audience to nine action-packed and emotionally charged episodes, this time around viewers will get a few short when season 2 returns with only seven. One thing that many fans are looking forward to seeing is how Abby’s story will be played out, especially now that her muscular physique is no longer a feature, as season 2 looks to add more drama than violence.

The Last of Us Fans Debate How Abby’s Arc Will Be In Season 2
Now that players know they won’t get the same Abby in The Last of Us season 2 as they did in Naughty Dog’s sequel game in terms of her bulky physique, fans are now coming up with plausible storylines for her that will match her physical abilities. Over on Reddit, The Last of Us community is discussing what changes will be brought to her story and some have quite a few good ideas. One user said that Abby could end up “being a skilled marksman and/or martial artist type of character instead, to make up for the lack of muscle mass,” while another thought that “most excellent soldiers and killers aren’t built like pro wrestlers”, so it made sense to have her muscles toned down this time around.
“Abby could be just as feared in the show as well. But it would be more because of her connection to Isaac than her physical presence as to why she is viewed as such a threat,” expressed the creator of the post. Most fans in the comment section seem to think that her lack of bulk won’t make any difference in the TV series, as it just won’t be needed because she’ll either be using her mental strength or, as one user said, be extremely skillful with a rifle (and also maybe even be a really great golf pro, who knows though.)
What we do know, though, is that Abby is on a quest for revenge and will use whatever she can to get even with the person who killed her father (no spoilers here). Fans may also get a deeper look into the Seraphites due to HBO Programmer Francesca Orsi’s recent comments regarding how the show will present a certain faction in wardrobe and makeup. Thankfully, fans don’t have too long to wait now as The Last of Us season 2 will be released on April 13 on Max.
