Given how important healing is in these games, it’s easy to see why having a white mage in the party is crucial for almost every Final Fantasy game. These magic users can heal and support the party at regular intervals, eventually acquiring powerful abilities like Holy that help them deal a ton of damage to late-game enemies with ease.

While it’s true that Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius features gacha elements that are hard to justify, the game does a decent job of justifying this premise. Players control two characters named Rain and Lasswell who can summon the visions of powerful warriors from various timelines to save the world of Lapis.
These powers are granted by a white mage encased in crystal named Fina. She eventually frees herself from this prison and acquires the powers of a Blue Mage, letting her pull her weight against the many enemies and threats that stand in their way.

Final Fantasy 2‘s emphasis on story means that several characters are fleshed out during the player’s travels. This includes Minwu, a Royal Mage from Fynn who joins the party temporarily to flex his powers as a White Mage.
Minwu is a notable exception to the norm, being one of the few male White Mages in Final Fantasy. He’s a pure magic user, making him a powerful White Magic user with the appropriate equipment.

Penelo
In Revenant Wings, She Takes On The Hybrid Role Of A White Mage And Dancer

While classes are pretty malleable in Final Fantasy 12, the same isn’t the case with its sequel. Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings is a fun real-time tactical JRPG where every character embodies a certain combination of classes.

In Penelo’s case, she embodies the powers of both a White Mage and a Dancer. This makes her fit for a support role who should stay in the backline, healing and supporting the party at regular intervals.

The twins Palom and Porom are two of the most beloved characters in Final Fantasy 4. Their noble sacrifice makes for one of the most emotional moments in the entire series, showing just how perilous Cecil’s journey is.
Out of the two, Porom specializes in White Magic, making her the designated healer in any confrontation. Her twin brother, Palom, can use a wealth of powerful Black Magic to obliterate his foes while his sister occupies an important support role.

While both Garnet and Eiko can invoke summons to damage enemies in battle, the latter is more suited to be a White Mage. The biggest indication of this is her Trance ability, letting her use the Double White ability to cast two spells from this category in quick succession.
This makes the combination of Eiko and Vivi more superior in the eyes of players who want their party to be as balanced as possible. All the bases are covered as players use a combination of physical and elemental attacks while relying on Eiko’s White Magic support skills to help them out from time to time.

Yuna
While She’s A Summoner First, Her Sphere Grid Has Many Powerful White Magic Abilities
There’s no denying that Yuna is a Summoner first, before anything else. However, a quick look at her Sphere Grid will reveal that her path is full of powerful White Magic too.

This makes her useful in a support role when players don’t need the firepower of an Aeon to take out their foes. With the Conditional Turn-Based battle system, players can keep hard hitters in their party and instantly switch to Yuna whenever some healing and support is required.

Rosa is a dedicated White Mage and the backbone of the party, especially in the difficult 3D Remake that takes no prisoners. She leaves the party at one point, only to make a welcome return and ease players’ minds with her powerful support magic.
Along with this, the addition of abilities like Holy ensures that Rosa can hold her own against the game’s toughest foes without too many problems. As long as her MP doesn’t reach critical levels, Rosa’s participation in battle is key to securing victory.

T for Teen: Blood, Fantasy Violence, Language, Mild Suggestive Themes
Final Fantasy 7 features many characters that embody a certain job. It doesn’t take an expert to figure out that Aerith is meant to serve as the role of a healer, even if the materia she equips can be used to give her a slew of powerful elemental magic to use in battle.
However, all of her Limit Breaks heal and support the party, making it clear that she’s meant to be the White Mage of the party. This is why her death hurts even more since players will be robbed of an efficient magic user who made the most of the materia she had equipped.
