Assembling your crew of Shooters in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii can be more challenging than the other crew categories, given the timing of when certain crew members become available. While you’re introduced to Misaki and the Bartender via the story, the former isn’t until Chapter Three, and the latter requires you to make tons of friends in Honolulu.

These Attackers are must-have members of your pirate crew.
While amassing some of the best Shooters in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii takes time and effort, the rewards will be worth it. Prepare to tackle several substories and ready your camera for some photos, as unlocking all the best Shooters is no walk in the park.
Tier Level Explanation
Given the relatively few available crew in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, the skills of these options are compressed into two following sections:
- First Mate Trait
- Squad Leader Trait
In addition, there are four stats:
- Cannon Power
- Ship Upkeep
- Attack
- Defense
This means that it’s clear to tell which attackers stand out as the best thanks to their higher stats and level caps, as there are not an overwhelming number of choices.
Given the relatively small roster of potential crew, there are only three tiers needed to group them accurately:
- S-Tier
- A-Tier
- All Other-Tier
S-Tier crew members stand out as unique thanks to special Squad Leader Traits, a level 50 cap, a majority of S-Tier stats, or a combination of the three factors. One S-tier stat is the minimum.
A-Tier crew members are excellent additions to any squad, and while they may only cap out at level 30, or have mainly A-tier stats – possibly one S-tier – they’re still capable of doing a job wherever you place them.
All other crew are likely to have a level cap of 20, and might not even have any additional traits. Ideally, they have at least one specialty, with a single A-tier stat that makes it simple to place them in their niche. This category does not include every other crew member in this category, just a select few worth mentioning.
There are very few exceptions to these rules, and you generally only want to use S or A-Tier crew members as you continue upgrading the Goromaru to the best it can be.
The following crew members require special methods to unlock them:
S-Tier Shooters
These Shooters are some of the best in Hawaii, but they’re also more challenging to recruit than some of the other best crew members.
Name |
Tier |
Explanation |
---|---|---|
Misaki |
S+ |
Misaki stands out thanks to her strong set of high stats in addition to her unique Squad Leader Trait, which charges the Voltage Gauge faster. This ensures you can use your Support Crew more often and will boost Misaki’s already excellent 420 Attack. |
Bartender |
S+ |
The Bartender is just as good if not more impressive than Misaki, as he touts a strong Squad Leader Trait to go along with his sky-high skills, highlighted by 470 Attack and S-ranks in everything except Ship Upkeep. |
Elizabeth |
S |
Elizabeth is arguably the most time-consuming member of the S-tier to earn, given you must complete Photo Rallies, but her skills offset the time cost. Elizabeth’s S-tier Attack is enough to earn her a place among the best. |
A-Tier Shooters
While there’s nothing exceptional about these Shooters, they’ll all be solid additions to your crew.
Name |
Tier |
Explanation |
---|---|---|
Captain Beef |
A |
One of your earliest pirate companions, Captain Beef, makes the A-tier of Shooters. However, unlike the upper tier of crew members, Captain Beef serves the Cannon Crew much better than as a Boarding Squad member. |
Arque Dangerous III |
A |
Arque Dangerous follows in Captain Beef’s footsteps, as yet another solid option for your Cannon Squad. If you’re lacking Squad Leaders, then you can use Arque’s Strenuous Effort Squad Leader Trait to boost Attack. |
Kamiyama |
A |
You may recognize Kamiyama as the weapon dealer from previous games, but despite his expertise with melee weapons, Kamiyama prefers to stick to your Cannon Squad as well. |
Ikari |
A |
Ikari is extremely well-rounded and can fill in at any position, including First Mate or Squad Leader. The excellent Attack stat makes Ikari the lone member of this tier who should be in your Boarding Squad. |
All Other Shooters
There aren’t many great crew members in this tier, but there are a couple of choices who can fill in when needed.
Name |
Tier |
Explanation |
---|---|---|
Monica |
B+ |
Monica’s stats are surprisingly solid, but her lack of Defense makes her yet another option for your Cannon Crew. Given the variety of Shooter options available for those positions, she’ll have to settle a notch below the better crew. |
Sharpshooter Takumi |
B |
Sharpshooter Takumi can get you through battles if you’re low on Cannon Squad members, but keep him far away from your Boarding Squad. |
