Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii introduces Majima to a host of new friends and reunites him with old allies like Minami, Nishida, and Saejima. Once you recruit Saejima to join your crew in Chapter Four, their conversations will focus primarily on the elephant in the room: Majima’s lost memories.

Adding naval combat into Like a Dragon is a bold move that pays off incredibly well.

While Majima remains steadfastly attached to the new person he is without his memories, Saejima won’t let the past go so easily, as he struggles to remind Majima of their journeys together. Once the pair has time to reacquaint and chat about the past, their attention turns to sharing a few beverages in the Crew Quarters of the Goromaru during Saejima’s Drink Link.

Once you finish Saejima’s five Bond Chats, the big man will invite you to a round of drinks. The five Bond Chats are:

  1. A Fight for The Mic
  2. Brothers
  3. Preserving Memories
  4. Batting Buddies
  5. A Beautiful Fin

As with the other crew members, head below deck to the Crew Quarters where you’ll find Saejima vibing in a corner next to an anchor on the wall across from the bar.

Approach Saejima and select “Drink with Saejima” to begin the Drink Link.

What To Say To Saejima: Choice One

Saejima tells Majima that they used to do things like this all the time back in the old days, but laments Majima’s inability to remember those special times.

Saejima begins a tale about a Yakiniku joint in an attempt to jog some of Majima’s memory. He then pauses his story for a pop quiz, asking what he used to order the most.

Your three options are

  1. It’s gotta be kalbi.
  2. I’m in the mood for some good ol’ tripe.
  3. Hirami. Y’know, like the diaphragm.

The correct answer is “I’m in the mood for some good ol’ tripe.”

Any other choice causes Saejima to display his disappointment, but he remarks that at least you remember the cuts. If you pick the correct answer, Saejima gets excited and starts trying to jog your memory with more meaty tales.

What To Say To Saejima: Choice Two

After Saejima finishes reminiscing over the delicious taste of tripe charred to a crisp on the grill, he ties it into a metaphor about people needing to go through the fire for him to like them.

Yakiniku philosophy aside, the conversation moves onto love, with post-amnesia Majima displaying an uncharacteristic interest in Saejima’s love life.

Saejima is evasive, but eventually, you can suggest an introduction to one of three women:

  1. Moana.
  2. Naomi.
  3. Queen Michele.

The best answer for Saejima is “Naomi”, as she’s a strong woman who isn’t a civilian. Taiga can relate to her lifestyle and thinks they’d get along.

After remarking on love a bit more, Saejima draws attention to everything Majima is doing for Noah and his role as a father figure to the boy.

Once the scene plays out, the Drink Link will be finished and you’ll strengthen your bond with Saejima, increasing his level cap to 50 and improving his Squad Leader Trait to “Veteran Bonded”, which greatly boosts Attack and Defense, adding Stun Resistance.
