PUBG Blindspot is coming for the tactical shooter throne with its first demo

Despite being slightly overshadowed by its colossal rival Fortnite, PUBG is still alive and healthy. Just a couple of weeks ago the series’ latest spinoff finally got a proper name, PUBG: Blindspot. While PUBG: Battlegrounds is obviously the de facto founder of the battle royale genre, Blindspot borrows from titles like Counter-Strike 2, opting for more of a tactical shooter vibe, albeit with an isometric camera as opposed to classic third or first-person shooting. Ahead of Steam Next Fest kicking off next week, you can now download and try out the demo for the game yourself.

If you feel like PUBG: Blindspot has come a bit out of nowhere, you might remember it better as Project Arc, with publisher Krafton revealing the official name for the 5v5 multiplayer game earlier this month. The Blindspot subtitle is pretty key here, as even though the top-down angle might make you think you can see across a large portion of the map, your vision is actually limited. That means you’ve got to be cautious going around every single corner, as an enemy opponent could be waiting to gun you down.

For the demo, you’ll have ten characters to choose from, all of them coming with their “own signature weapons and special tools.” There will be three team deathmatch maps to try out, and four demolition mission maps, so you’ll have plenty of variety in the demo alone.

A match sees your team take on one of two roles: you’re either the group that’s attempting to hack into a hidden crypt within each respective map, or the ones doing the defending. If all of this sounds appealing to you, then you can check out the demo right here.
