Oshi no Ko is one of the most popular anime in the world. Ever since the release of the first season, it has been in the news. On February 20, 2025, the final seven nominees for the prestigious Osamu Tezuka Grand Prize were revealed, and Oshi no Ko was named among the finalists.
The Osamu Tezuka Prize is one of the most illustrious awards in the manga industry. Named after the legendary Osamu Tezuka, the awards were first given in 1997. Since then, every year several manga and their authors are nominated, but only a few take home the award.

Oshi no Ko Could Win The Osamu Tezuka Grand Prize
Currently, there are four categories, including the Grand Prize, Creative Award, Short story Award, and Special Award. Along with Oshi no Ko, there are six other nominees for the Osamu Tezuka Grand Prize:
- Battle Scar by Kazuya Kuramoto
- Embryologist Mizuiro by Okazaki Mari
- Umi ga Hashiru Endroll by John Tarachine
- Chizu ni Nai Basho by Yuki Andou
- Ma Vie en 24 Images par Seconde by Rintaro
- Never Say Ugly by Toaru Arako
The winners of the prize will be revealed in April 2025. If Oshi no Ko ends up winning, it would be another feather in the caps of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari.
Oshi no Ko Season 3 Release Date
Oshi no Ko has already confirmed that the third season of the anime will start airing sometime in 2026. A precise release date has yet to be disclosed, but an update for the same can be expected in the coming months. The main voice cast will reprise their roles for the third season of Oshi no Ko.

Oshi no Ko manga ended in 2024, and it was highly controversial. Aka Akasaka even warned readers beforehand about the climax. Following the manga’s conclusion, a new novel was released that expanded on the original ending. If the novel’s goal was to make fans understand why things ended the way they did, then it failed. Fans dragged the new ending all over social networking sites. They will be hoping the anime makes some changes and makes it better.
