Sony San Diego Studio’s premier baseball video game series is entering its 20th iteration with MLB The Show 25, with the same developer helming every single entry of the franchise. Exclusive to PlayStation until the release of MLB The Show 21, the baseball sim has since expanded to the three major consoles, with each new edition adding or tweaking gameplay features. The developers have been steadily releasing info about the game, first revealing MLB The Show 25‘s cover athletes and March 18 release date, and now a series of gameplay trailers.

MLB The Show 25‘s first gameplay trailer was released a few weeks ago, which gave fans an overarching view of the plethora of new or reworked gameplay features, systems, and modes. The newly-released trailers hone in on certain areas of the game, with the latest focusing on all the new features coming to MLB The Show 25‘s Road to the Show mode. The first-person POV can be activated by pressing the touchpad at any time during gameplay, which will shift the camera from third-person to first-person view, giving players a whole new perspective on executing the game’s many quick-time events.
In addition to the many new features in Road to the Show mode, MLB The Show 25‘s overhauled Diamond Dynasty mode is aiming to be the best-ever version of itself. The popular game mode is making several key changes to improve the player experience, including a revamped card system with new card types, the year-round viability of cards, and the addition of new legends such as Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez. MLB The Show 25 is also introducing Diamond Quest, a cartoonish board game-like mode that contains Diamond Dynasty awards.

With the real-world MLB gearing up for its 2025 season, the professional sports league is partnering with an unexpected mobile title: Pokemon GO. Announced a few days ago, Pokemon GO‘s collab with the MLB will bring team-themed PokeStops and Gyms to every MLB ballpark, with numerous Pokemon GO-themed games happening at various stadiums throughout the season. Players can expect co-branded merchandise, exclusive in-game avatar items, Timed Research, and Raid Battles. Between MLB The Show 25 and the Pokemon GO and MLB collab, baseball fans have plenty to look forward to in 2025.
