A common feature in many modern video games is the inclusion of a proficiency or progression system in which players can work their way through. Marvel Rivals is no different from this, including its own Hero Proficiency system for every character in the game.

This is a unique way in which gamers can unlock additional rewards and collectibles for their main heroes and villains, including the beloved Lord icons. If you’re wondering how you can progress your Proficiency on each hero, how to track your progress, and the various rewards you can earn for reaching each stage, all relevant information has been included in the guide below.

Marvel Rivals: What is Proficiency? & How to Progress

MR proficiency 1

In Marvel Rivals, players can view their proficiency for any character in the game by heading over to the character gallery and selecting them from the list. From here, navigate to the Proficiency tab. You will now see a progress bar and a list of rewards based on your total playtime and objectives completed for that character.

To progress Proficiency in Marvel Rivals, players must simply play the character in which they would like to progress. Objectives in the Proficiency tab always have to do with key abilities or scores related to the character in question, such as using an ability to get eliminations or apply CC, achieving final hits, blocking damage, dealing damage, getting assists, and more.

As players continue to complete these objectives over and over, they will gain progression points to advance their Proficiency level. There are five levels in total, with Agent being the starting level, and Lord being the highest possible level. At every new level, you will unlock a series of collectibles for that character, such as sprays, KO prompts, and hero icons.
