Summary
- Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic and its sequel are free on the Epic mobile store.
- The store is available on Android worldwide, but only in Europe on iOS.
- The games will be free to claim and keep from now until March 20, 2025.
Knights Of The Old Republic and its sequel remain two of the most well-loved Star Wars games years after their release. However, with no word on how development is going on the original’s troubled remake, you might as well play the originals in whatever way you can, and right now you can play both of the classic Star Wars games for nothing at all.
Epic revealed on Thursday that from now until March 20, 2025, anyone with its mobile store can download and play Knights Of The Old Republic and Knights Of The Old Republic 2 for nothing at all. That will mean playing the Star Wars RPGs on your phone or a tablet, but that’s not necessarily bad. Playing some of the best Star Wars games ever made on the go, and for free, sounds like a good thing to me.

Prime subscribers will be able to claim 20 more games at no additional cost throughout February.
There are some caveats, but don’t worry, none of them require you to pay anything for these games. Unless you’re reading this after March 20 and the deal has ended. Epic’s mobile arm is still young and while it is available everywhere, for the most part, it’s not currently available on everything everywhere.
Epic Is Giving Away Both Knights Of The Old Republic Games
You Can Claim Them Now Through Its Mobile Store
If you have an Android phone you can download the Epic Games Store app and claim your KOTOR freebies no matter where you are in the world. If you plan on claiming them through an iPhone or another iOS device, that’s where you might hit a stumbling block. Epic’s mobile store is currently only available in Europe on iOS devices. That means no free Star Wars games for you if you’re playing on an iPhone in North America.
Much like it still does with its regular store, Epic is trying to drive traffic to its still-young mobile store by tempting people to use it with free games. Having only launched in August 2024, even though there have been quite a few free games available through the Epic mobile store already, both Knights Of The Old Republic games being free to claim and keep for the next month is the first time one of the new mobile store’s giveaways has really made any waves.
The key will be keeping people there once they have claimed their free games and left to play them. While Epic has become known for giving away free games on the regular on PC, I’d hazard to guess many of you will have claimed in the past them and gone right back to using Steam. That will likely be the case for its mobile store too with users returning to their standard Android and Apple stores once they’ve claimed their free games.
