Any good pirate game worth its salt will offer plenty of ways to earn money while sailing the seas, and Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii doesn’t disappoint. However, despite the wealth of ways waiting for you, there are a handful of money-making methods that are exceptionally rewarding for your time, especially if you enjoy this game’s split combat system.

Adding naval combat into Like a Dragon is a bold move that pays off incredibly well.
Majima may not remember his name or his past, but the impetus to put his cunning and strength to good use remains. You’ll unlock access to the full variety of efficient methods by chapter three, so there’s always time to put these methods to good use.
Hunting With Your Chain Hook
Once you unlock the Chain Hook ability by speaking to Julie from Julie’s Gearworks during Chapter Two, several new areas will become accessible to you around Hawaii.
You will also gain the ability to catch bugs and fish, so the Chain Hook has plenty of uses even while you’re hunting down treasure chests.
While this method can also be a more passive way of earning money as you explore different areas during your journey, you can also make an effort to search for the glowing blue hooks, typically found on the second stories of many buildings in Honolulu.
You can find treasure chests in these hidden locations, like the one on top of Dunghill, which contain rare items, rewarding you with money, pirate reputation points, and progress toward your Treasure Treasury completion.
This money-making method is perfect if you just want to take in the sights and details around the map without engaging in the combat aspects as much during your money-farming sessions.
Treasure Islands
If you enjoy opening shiny chests filled with rare curios and currency but prefer to earn your pirate booty through blood and steel, then seeking out treasure islands marked by treasure chest icons on your map might suit your fancy.
This is technically the first best money-making method you’ll be introduced to during the early stages of Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
Fair warning: the latter islands pose some of the most challenging combat sequences in the game.
At the end of each Treasure Island’s boss fight, Majima will open a chest containing a rare treasure to add to your treasury, as well as a chunk of money and reputation like the exploration chests offer.
You should invest heavily in upgrading Majima’s abilities before seeking out the hardest islands, or at least find some of the strongest crew members to back you up first.
Police/Pirate Bounties
Bounties are some of the best ways to earn cash fast in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, especially if you dedicate a bit of time and effort to upgrading Majima, the Goromaru, and mastering the combat systems.
While bounties are undoubtedly easier to complete the more upgrades you invest in, you can challenge many of the Most Wanted bounties as soon as you unlock access to them.
Lopez, the first challenging bounty located directly outside the Diamondhead bar, offers a $16,000 reward, which is a huge sum, especially during the first half of the game.
If you’re enjoying naval combat instead of land combat, then fear not, as you can turn your attention to Pirate Bounties, marked by the skull icon on your map.
These bounties offer even more money than the Most Wanted bounties, and certain boss ships typically include treasure chests that contain valuables worth almost $100,000 in some cases.
Pirates’ Coliseum
While bounties are fantastic, there’s no beating the sheer convenience of farming money at the Pirates’ Coliseum. There are three types of matches to play in Madlantis’ coliseum:
- Quick Clash
- Madlantis Mania
- Tournament Of Captains
Each set of challenges offers increasing rewards as you climb the pirate ranks, with your earnings increasing as you complete them under certain time thresholds.
Whether you prefer the deck-battle extravaganza in Madlantis Mania or the mix of both cannon and deck combat in Quick Clash and the Tournament of Captains, fighting in the Pirates’ Coliseum will offer the best money farming in Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii for your effort.
