Dill Bits are ones of the currencies for this season, similar to Bars. These can be found at various points across the Island, and require you to break open a vault in most situations. Certain points of interest are sure to have these, and all you need to do is muster up the courage to go heisting.
What Are Dill Bits Used For?
Dill Bits belong to a specialized type of currency this season that’s more valuable than the Gold Bars players are used to. During each match, you will earn Dill Bits by breaking open vaults located around the Island. These coins don’t take up any inventory space.
Since these don’t carry over from match to match, you’ll need to spend it wisely!
Dill Bits allow you to purchase powerful Legendary variants of weapons from Black Markets, which are marked on the map. These weapons significantly impact the game and help you win more battles than you would imagine.
By the time you obtain a coin or two, there’s a high possibility that the storm has closed in already, and you’re not left with any Black Markets in the game. So, keep checking the map before planning a heist.
Where To Find Dill Bits
Breaking Into Amored Vehicles
The easiest and fastest way to get Dill Bits is to break into a vault that’s on the Armored Train or Armored Transport convoy. Since these two spots are always on the move, there’s a low chance of other players third-partying and ruining the fun! Unless, of course, you’re skilled enough to take them on and show them who’s the boss.
For the Armored Truck heist, you need to first make sure it’s not moving, and then place a Thermite at its back.
For the moving Armored Train, we recommend taking out the turrets on top first.
Breaking Into Bank Vaults
Another way is to visit the major points of interest marked on the map—Seaport City, Lonewolf Lair, Masked Meadows, Crime City—where you can steal some Dill Bits. This is usually a tougher choice for newcomers to Fortnite since these are hot spots that attract a lot of attention at the start of a match, but the upside is they’re in fixed locations.
All you’ll need to do is find your way to a Bank Vault, crack it, fight several enemies (and sometimes a boss), and survive incoming attacks from other players if they are around. No pressure! After you’ve done that, you can claim your loot!
The moment you land on the Island, visit a Black Market and purchase Thermite for 50 Bars. This way, you’ll be ready to execute a heist the moment an opportunity arrives.
You can also find Thermite in chests and as floor loot.
