Are you wondering about Monster Hunter Wilds having crossplay or cross-saves? That’s a big question ahead of the release. We are inching closer and closer to the highly-anticipated release of the latest title from Capcom’s hit series.

As it gets closer, players may need to know if they can play Monster Hunter Wilds with their friends on different platforms or if they themselves can pick up their save files on different platforms. Here’s everything you need to know about that.

Is Monster Hunter Wilds Crossplay?

Yes, Monster Hunter Wilds will have crossplay. For the first time in the series’ lengthy history, there will be cross-platform support on day one. When it launches on February 28, everyone will be able to play online with one another.

It is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S (but not Game Pass) and PlayStation 5. All three platforms will be able to get on and play with the others. It’s not available on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, so those platforms don’t have to worry about it. To do this, you will need to create a Link Party. It’s fairly simple to do so:

  1. Navigate to the Communications tab in the menu.
  2. Click Link Party
  3. Click Invite to Link Party and choose friends to invite.

Cross-play can be disabled if you want. Sometimes, it’s easier to do things on a PC than a console, and gamers sometimes like to restrict the platforms they play online with so they’re not at a disadvantage.

Does MH Wilds Have Cross-saves?

On the other hand, Monster Hunter Wilds will not have cross-save or even cross-buy. Sometimes, gamers will buy copies of a game on multiple platforms, and they’ll be able to pick up where they left off on one when playing on another.

That won’t be the case for Wilds. Instead, if you do have two or more copies of the game, you’ll have to start fresh on each one. Your Xbox Series X save file won’t translate over to your PlayStation 5. This is for all save data, including any potential DLC that comes down the road after launch. You’ll only have access to it on the save file and platform you originally purchased it for.
