Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season Two Reloaded Puts a Spotlight on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater

Many fans have been looking forward to Season Two Reloaded of Black Ops 6 due to the early confirmation that it would feature the fan-favorite Grind map, which was first introduced to the series with 2012’s Black Ops 2. Now remastered and being added to Black Ops 6 with the name Grind Ooze, the map’s skate park setting is still familiar, with a fresh coat of paint making Grind a staple of Season Two Reloaded’s multiplayer offerings.

Grind also appeared as a multiplayer map in 2018’s Black Ops 4, with its three total appearances making it a growing staple of the Black Ops sub-franchise.

One change that has been made to Grind sticks out above all others, however, with one of the map’s rooms featuring a mysterious date on the wall: March 4, 2025. This newly added sign also features a bare-bones logo for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, leading to an explosion of theories and discussion among fans of the franchise. Many rumors have been circulating around THPS in recent weeks, with the skate park setting of Grind being the perfect place to finally shine a light on them.

These recent murmurings around Tony Hawk‘s Pro Skater suggest that the franchise’s third and fourth installments will be released as a remake, following the successful remake of THPS 1 and 2 in 2020. Another remake project seems like a logical extension of this past success, although some rumors even suggest that this upcoming project will be a brand-new entry to the Pro Skater franchise entirely.

Black Ops 6’s Tease For a Future Pro Skater Project Has Already Been Verified

To dispel any doubt over this teaser in Black Ops 6‘s Grind map, Tony Hawk himself took to social media to confirm that the map is indeed making reference to a future gaming project, with fans seemingly having to wait for a full reveal on March 4. Of course, Activision owns both the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise and Call of Duty, with this crossover tease within Season Two Reloaded’s content being a fascinating way to use the hype of its biggest franchise to push attention toward its other IPs.

Fans have been waiting for further developments for the Pro Skater franchise for some time now, with the excitement around this mystery project speaking for itself. While players still have to wait to gain a solid idea of what to expect from this upcoming game, the use of Call of Duty as a promotional tool for the title seems to have simultaneously drawn attention to both franchises in a way that would not be possible with a more traditional announcement.
