However, instead of fighting, he offers Zoro a chance to take Luffy’s pain to save his captain and prove his loyalty. This moment perfectly captures Zoro’s character with incredible writing and art. Additionally, the emotional high of their victory against Gecko Moria, followed by the potential hopelessness of facing Kuma makes the scene extremely intense.

However, through determination and a bit of desperation, Luffy manages to attack Lucci with one of the greatest finishers in the entire series, the Gum-Gum Jet Gatling. This moment carries so much emotional and physical weight, with Robin’s life, as well as the lives of the rest of the Straw Hat Crew resting on Luffy’s shoulders. Additionally, at this point, Luffy is struggling to even stand, yet still manages to muster enough strength to defeat Lucci.
