The Drifter’s doomsday arsenal from Season of Arrivals is back in Destiny 2’s
Heresy episode. These fairly ancient weapons haven’t seen use since Year 3, but they’re made a triumphant return with refreshed perk pools and the Paracasual Fluid origin trait, granting these weapons a bonus to handling and mobility upon landing sustained damage.

Destiny 2: The Best Rolls For All Episode: Heresy Weapons
Here are the best perk combinations you can find for Episode: Heresy’s seasonal weapons.
Today, we’ll be looking at the best rolls you can get on all five reissued Arrivals weapons, both for PvE and PvP usage. This includes the updated False Promises AR, Cold Denial Pulse Rifle, Temptation’s Hook Sword, and more. Use the table of contents above to search for a specific weapon you’re interested in.
Cold Denial
High-Impact Pulse Rifles are still a fantastic option in today’s Crucible, and Cold Denial is no exception. Zen Moment can be paired with Headseeker to create one of the most consistent Pulse Rifles in this sandbox. Aim for the head and fire away.
Cold Denial struggles a bit in PvE due to a lack of elemental perks, but it can hold its own in seasonal content with Enlightened Action and Desperado. Each hit from this weapon will ramp up Enlightened Action, which increases reload speed and handling. Reloading after a kill will then trigger Desperado, greatly increasing your fire rate for a few seconds.

False Promises
False Promises has been recategorized as a Stasis Auto Rifle with this reissue, allowing you to get Headstone in the second column. There aren’t many Stasis ARs in Destiny 2 currently, so if you’re a fan of Headstone ARs, this might be worth a grab. But excluding that, there isn’t much going for False Promises.
Crucible players should keep their eyes peeled for Surplus and High Ground. Not many ARs can roll with High Ground, which is a 15% damage buff you can activate from fighting enemies while on an elevated surface. It was nerfed during Year 7, but it’s still a strong perk for PvP. Surplus will help boost this archetype’s fairly low base stats.

Hollow Words
Hollow Words might not have the best stat package for a Fusion Rifle, but it does have some solid perk combinations if you’re looking for a decent Special weapon. Ambitious Assassin can be paired with Successful Warm-Up to create a strong weapon for slaying adds and majors alike.
Crucible players should only use this weapon for Rolling Storm, a new perk that grants stacks of Bolt Charge on kill. Bolt Charge will iterate stacks as you deal sustained damage with any weapon once you gain a stack, allowing you to trigger a Bolt Charge detonation with any ability once you’ve gained ten stacks. It’s a devastating keyword that any build can access through this gun.

Temptation’s Hook
We don’t recommend using Temptation’s Hook in any activity. Caster Frames have not aged well, and Temptation’s Hook hardly does anything unique to warrant farming for one. If you want a strong Sword for PvE DPS, use Falling Guillotine or Ergo Sum
. For PvP, anything with Eager Edge will serve you better—Half-Truths, The Other Half, etc.

Whispering Slab
Whispering Slab has a new perk pool that highly encourages aggressive play, both for PvE and PvP. Archer’s Tempo lowers this weapon’s draw time to an absurd degree, which you can pair with a damage perk like High Ground for a solid PvE workhorse weapon.
It’s not Tyranny of Heaven
, but it’ll get the job done.
Crucible players who main Bows generally favor consistency, so you’ll want to focus on perks that buff this weapon’s accuracy. Hip-Fire Grip is fantastic for quickly firing shots up close. For enemies further away, Opening Shot will ensure that you always land your first arrow.
