What’s the longest you’ve ever waited for a game? The problem with videogames is that they pretty much always take much longer than you’d expect, and as budgets have increased and as time has gone on, that’s only gotten truer and truer. Skyrim came out way back in 2011, but almost 14 years later there’s still no Elder Scrolls 6, and it’ll be a decade since Fallout 4 came out later this year, too. But a studio like Bethesda is guaranteed to release those follow-ups – when you’re waiting almost ten years for a game like Lost Soul Aside, an original, debut IP which was first announced in 2016, things are a bit more uncertain. Lost Soul Aside has a release date now, though, but there’s bad news for PC players.
Earlier this month, Sony held its first PlayStation State of Play, which featured a whole bunch of announcements, including the fact that, after all these years, Lost Soul Aside would finally be releasing on Friday May 30. While it’s obviously launching on PS5, the action RPG will also be released on PC via Steam, but there’s a big problem: it won’t be available in 130 countries.
Looking at the game’s metadata on SteamDB shows the full list of territories where it “can NOT be activated or purchased,” which includes countries like Pakistan, Cambodia, and Serbia.
What’s important to note is that PlayStation, which is publishing Lost Soul Aside, has frequently required PC players to connect a PSN account when playing any titles it publishes to Steam – including single-player games. It’s a move that has frequently been criticized, but just last month Sony confirmed that the requirement had been lifted on select games.
It’s possible that Lost Soul Aside will still need it despite the recent change, though. A majority of the countries listed on SteamDB where the game won’t be available for purchase don’t have the option to create a PSN account, which is perhaps the reason why Lost Soul Aside isn’t available for purchase.

It’s obviously going to be frustrating for players in these regions who were excited for Lost Soul Aside, but hopefully, in the wake of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Steam debut, Sony will realize that Lost Soul Aside doesn’t need the PSN requirement.
Thankfully, there are plenty of other games in the world to try out if Lost Soul Aside doesn’t work out for you, and we’ve got a great list of the best action-adventure games available on PC. Or if big, impressive, flashy titles are more your bag, we’ve also got a list of the best JRPGs that you can check out, too.
