Summary
- According to a leak, the upcoming LEGO Nintendo Game Boy set will be released on October 1, 2025.
- The set will reportedly retail for $59.99 and have 421 pieces.
- Several LEGO Mario Kart sets will also launch later this year.
The price and release date for the upcoming LEGO Nintendo Game Boy set have supposedly been leaked online, along with the number of pieces the set will contain. Nintendo and LEGO have been collaborating on building sets based on beloved properties like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing over the past few years. Even before that, LEGO released a model set of the original Nintendo Entertainment System in August 2020, complete with a TV that displayed a classic scene from the first Super Mario game.
At the beginning of 2025, LEGO and Nintendo announced that they would be partnering once again to release a new building set based on the original Nintendo Game Boy handheld of the early 90s. Nothing else about this set was revealed at the time of its initial announcement, except that it would hit stores sometime in October 2025. The brief LEGO Game Boy set promotional clip did show glimpses at some of the pieces that will be used to recreate the classic portable system’s directional pad and purple input buttons, but the rest of the set is a mystery at this time.

According to them, the new set will launch on October 1 at the suggested retail price of $59.99. Leaked LEGO Game Boy Set Release Date, Price, and Piece Count
- Release Date: October 1, 2025
- Price: $59.99
- Piece Count: 421
As noted by VGC, this leaked LEGO Game Boy price point is a bit higher than the norm, likely due to the Nintendo brand and the fact that the set is being aimed at older collectors. The set will likely contain some significant nostalgia for these older fans, as it calls back to a time before dedicated handheld gaming systems were phased out by mobile phones and hybrid consoles like the Nintendo Switch.
The Game Boy isn’t the only Nintendo property being rendered in LEGO form this year, as a line of LEGO Mario Kart sets was announced back in December and will launch later this year. There is also a rumor of another Mario Kart set, this one much bigger and aimed at the same older crowd as the upcoming Game Boy set. Of course, just like the LEGO Game Boy set’s leaked price and release date, fans should take this claim with a grain of salt until more concrete evidence presents itself.
