Groschen is essential in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, covering everything from gear purchases and repairs to food, accommodation, and other necessities. Since players can’t just steal everything and sell it for massive profits, completing side quests is a great way to earn extra money and gear.
Another reliable method is finding hidden treasures across Bohemia, which can provide Henry with enough resources to make the early-to-mid game much smoother. For those looking to make a little extra money, here’s how to find the Caught Thief’s Map
in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and the treasure it leads to.

How To Get The Caught Thief’s Map In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To find the map, you must progress through the main story until you reach the Back in the Saddle quest and gain the ability to freely explore Trosky Castle. On the west side of the castle, near multiple Dice tables, you’ll find Black Bartosch, one of the soldiers standing by a wooden fence.
Bartosch has the Caught Thief’s Map, and there are several ways to obtain it. If no other soldiers are nearby, you can pickpocket him from behind; one of the available loot options will be the map.
If you’d rather not risk pickpocketing, you can challenge Bartosch to a game of Dice. He’ll mention that he has no money but will wager the map if you win. Here, you have two choices: buy the map for 250 Groschen or bet 50 Groschen, win the game, and get both your money and the Caught Thief’s Map as a reward.
To view the map, open your inventory and check the books tab.
Where To Find The Caught Thief’s Map Treasure In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
With the map in your possession, fast travel to Nebakov Mill. From there, follow the road heading east and take the left path that cuts up the hill. Turn right and enter the forest, making your way toward the location marked on the map. Keep heading east through the trees until you reach the Thief’s Camp, where a single enemy awaits.
You can stealth kill the enemy with a dagger if you have one. Nearby, there’s a chest that requires hard lockpicking to open.
Hold the L2/LT button on your controller to rotate the lock and use the right stick to move the cursor. The lock will only turn when the ball turns golden, so don’t force it if the color isn’t changing; otherwise, you’ll risk breaking the lockpick.
Since this is a hard lock, you can use a Quickfinger Potion to boost craftsmanship and thievery by 6 for 40 minutes. Once unlocked, open the storage box to obtain the following items:
- Engraved Gemstone Ring
-
Weak Marigold Decoction
-
Frankfurt Steel
x4
- 328 Groschen
-
Bandage
x2
