Blizzard Announces Six New Warcraft Conventions

Blizzard kicks off 2025 with a bang by announcing six conventions to celebrate Warcraft’s 30th anniversary taking place in the first half of the year.

Now, Hearthstone has officially pulled back the curtain on the first of these new card sets. Into the Emerald Dream is an otherworldly expansion that focuses on the conflict between Ysera, protector of World of Warcraft‘s iconic Emerald Dream, and the Nightmare forces of the Old Gods. In this 145-card set, Druids, Hunters, Mages, Paladins, Priests, and Shamans can tap into the power of the Dream with Imbue, a new keyword that transforms and empowers their Hero Power. Meanwhile, the Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Rogue, Warlock, and Warrior classes have sided with the Nightmare, granting them the ability to use Dark Gifts – 10 special effects that are randomly paired with Discovered minions. What’s more, every class is also getting a Choose One card – a keyword formerly only used by Druids.

Hearthstone’s Into the Emerald Dream Set Features

  • 145-card set releasing March 25
  • New keywords
    • Imbue – transform and infuse Hero Powers with Wild God magic
      • Available for Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paldin, Priest, and Shaman
    • Dark Gifts – Discover minions with random special effects
      • Featured predominantly in Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Rogue, Warlock, and Warrior
  • Choose One card available for every class
  • Wild God Legendary Minion for every class
  • Pre-release cards
    • Ysera, Emerald Aspect (free on login)
    • Creature of Madness x2 (free in shop)
    • Raptor Herald x2 (Release the Raptor in-game event March 4)

Each class in Hearthstone also gets its own Legendary Wild God minion. Some of these cards, such as the Priest class’s Aviana, Elune’s Chosen, are champions of the Emerald Dream, while others, like the Death Knight’s Ursoc, have been corrupted by the Nightmare. Beyond this cycle of Wild Gods, fans will find other Legendary minions like the neutral Malorne the Waywatcher and Naralex, Herald of the Flights, and class cards like Merithra, the new Green Aspect from World of Warcraft who brings a powerful resurrection effect to Shamans in Hearthstone. The rest of the expansion will be revealed over the next month, leading up to Into the Emerald Dream’s release on March 25.

That said, players can collect a few cards from the set well before then. Right now, all fans who log in to Hearthstone get Ysera, Emerald Aspect – a neutral Legendary minion who increases both player’s maximum mana while in a deck – and can buy two copies of the Creature of Madness common minion from the shop for free. Then, from March 4 until the expansion’s release, fans can collect the Raptor Herald card via the Release the Raptor in-game event. In Battlegrounds, players can enjoy three heroes inspired by the Hearthstone x StarCraft crossover, the return of Anomalies, and some changes to the minion pool that went live with the Into the Emerald Dream announcement, so fans should be sure to log in to claim their free rewards and check out this new content.
