Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC is finally getting the suite of improvements from the game’s Expanded and Enhanced release on PS5 and Xbox Series.

Although PC gaming has become a bigger priority than ever over the past few years for companies like PlayStation and Xbox, that hasn’t always been the case. Perhaps the most notorious example of this is with Rockstar Games and how it likes to release its titles on PC long after they hit consoles for seemingly no reason at all.

The great indoors.

Although most games tend to be much better on PC, that hasn’t been the case for Grand Theft Auto 5, which has infamously been missing features from the PS5 and Xbox Series port of the game, Expanded and Enhanced, for nearly three years. That strange and annoying situation is finally coming to an end, though.

GTA 5’s PC Port Will Match PS5 And Xbox Series On March 4

A few months ago, Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA 5 on PC would be receiving an update in 2025 that adds the Expanded and Enhanced features to the game. The studio has been silent about it for the past two months, but today it finally confirmed that the free update is coming in just a few weeks on March 4.

Over on the Rockstar Newswire, the developer confirmed that the features from GTA 5’s expanded edition on PS5 and Xbox Series such as improved loading times, new vehicles and performance upgrades, animal encounters, and access to GTA+, will all be included in the update. It’s a wonder it took this long, but it’s finally happening relatively soon.

It’s a little wild to think that GTA+ hasn’t been an option for PC players until now.

Rockstar also confirmed that support for the current version of GTA 5 on PC will continue, which is being done to allow “anyone whose hardware does not currently meet the minimum requirements” to keep playing. This is being done in part so that support for FiveM can continue uninterrupted. That should show just how important that community is to GTA.
