One of the biggest new collabs we’re waiting for is Fortnite X Mortal Kombat. A crossover between the fighting game series and the Battle Royale. It’s long been rumoured, but it is now arriving with the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 and Season 2. In the trailers for the season, we’ve already seen key features shown off, including the first skins. More is coming though.
Big Fortnite collabs like this always spread across the whole game. As the Secret Skin for the next Battle Pass, it looks like Mortal Kombat will be more than a simple collab. We’ll get a skin in the Battle Pass, but also Mythics in-game, and more in the item shop. This is what we’re expecting with Fortnite X Mortal Kombat.

Fortnite X Mortal Kombat Coming in C6 S2
In Chapter 6 Season 2, our biggest collab will be Fortnite X Mortal Kombat. The trailer for C6 S2 has always shown off quite a bit of the new content we can expect. This is what we’ve seen so far and in Fortnite leaks:
New Mythics
One of the most exciting parts of the collab is going to be an in-game item. It seems this is coming in the form of mythics. According to leakers and the trailer, one of these mythics will be based on Sub Zero’s moves. He’ll be able to use the ice powers we see him using in Mortal Kombat games, which should be fun in Fortnite lobbies.
Then there’s a secondary one which is supposed to be based on the brawling aspects of the fighter. These will be an interesting change from the normal Chapter 6 guns.
Fortnite X Mortal Kombat Skins
One of the Fortnite X Mortal Kombat leaks already shown off is the new skins! The first of these will be Sub-Zero, coming as the secret skin in the Battle Pass. Players will be able to unlock the character mid-season, probably with a secondary style and other cosmetics.
Alongside the skin already, we’re released, we’re expecting a second character. This has been included in Fortnite leaks. We don’ know exactly what character will be featured yet though! There’s a long history of Mortal Kombat games to pull from. The Fortnite Street Fighter skins have been some of the most popular, so these could end up being quite a big deal too.

Fortnite X Mortal Kombat has been discussed before, as a possibility for a collab before the game decided on Street Fighter X Fortnite. In the meantime, all Warner Bros properties like MK have had a weird few years. Warner Bros decided to focus on their own games, pulled their IP from platforms like Fortnite, lost a ton of money on MultiVersus and Suicide Squad, and then came back. Essentially with the change in focus on Warner bros, it’s no surprise we’re now moving forward with the collab. Although, few expected Warner Bros characters to arrive in the very next pass.
