Intros have always been a key part of fighting games, and Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is no exception. The thrill of seeing your favorite characters have special interactions before the match starts never gets old. Whether it’s a slightly goofy conversation or trash talk between rival characters from the anime, intros will always be the cornerstone of immersion and hype.

Sparking Zero takes this to the next level. Stunning visuals, dynamic animations, and amazing voice acting combine to create some of the most memorable character interactions we have seen in the history of Dragon Ball games.

Frieza Vs. Frieza
Mirror Match Special Intros
Sparking Zero offers special interactions when the same characters face off against each other. Frieza vs Frieza, in particular, gets quite heated. He goes on to call his other self an impostor, and how there can only be one emperor of the universe. Vegeta also gets rather rude when facing himself.
These intros can set the perfect stage for an intense mirror match. After all, the goal is to prove your superiority in mastering the character over your opponent. Sparking Zero is unique in this regard because many fighting games don’t offer special interactions for mirror matches.
9
Vegeta Vs. Kid Trunks
A Great Reference With A Hilarious Twist
The Buu Saga version of Vegeta references an original Dragon Ball Z quote during his interaction with Kid Trunks, where he promises to take Trunks to an amusement park. While Vegeta’s quote doesn’t change, Trunks replies with “No cap?! Let’s go!” Yes, this is not made up. This is a real voice line of Kid Trunks in Sparking Zero.
Even if you’ve already seen a clip of this before getting to experience it for the first time in the game is still a great experience. The choice of words is a bold decision by the development team, and a hilarious one.

Super Baby 2 Vs. Goku Black
Banter Between The Most Arrogant Villains
The Dragon Ball community has always compared Super and GT. While the debates tend to get quite heated, seeing two characters from these shows interact in official Dragon Ball media is a dream come true for fans of both.

Here’s how to play as Baby Vegeta in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero!
Super Baby 2 and Goku Black are nothing short of the most arrogant and proud villains in the entire series. This dynamic makes the whole interaction even more special, as both characters go back and forth in their banter. Baby is looking to stop Goku Black’s zero mortal plan, while Goku Black thinks of him as nothing more than a mere parasite.
7
Bardock Vs. Goku Black
Unexpectedly Wholesome Side Of Bardock
Bardock and Goku Black are probably the last two characters you would expect to chat with one another, but even they get to have a unique conversation during the intro. It’s also interesting to see Bardock show so much care for Goku because the original depiction of Bardock was that of a ruthless Saiyan warrior.
However, both versions of Bardock may have a similar reaction to seeing Goku Black. Whether it’s due to the original Bardock’s pride as a Saiyan, or the recent Bardock’s genuine care for his family, the interaction is fascinating no matter how you perceive it.
6
Gogeta Vs. Vegito
The Classic Rivalry Reenacted
You can’t have a Dragon Ball game without Gogeta and Vegito having a little talk. Of course, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero completely enhances the dialogue with great voice acting. Although unfortunately, different forms of Gogeta and Vegito don’t get any unique voice lines.
Despite that, the intro is epic every time you see it. Vegito is especially ruthless because his Vegeta side starts to come out, and he hits Gogeta where it hurts the most; the pose. Needless to say, Sparking Zero does the classic Gogeta vs Vegito battle justice.
5
UI Goku Vs. Hit
One Of The Most Chilling Lines By Goku
The developers made Goku sound like the final boss during this special interaction. While Hit goes on about being unimpressed with Ultra Instinct, Goku delivers a hardcore line that ends with “Mess around and find out.”
A character like Goku saying that while in his strongest form is definitely something that you need to be scared of. On the flip side, if you’re the UI Goku player, this dialogue will fire you up enough to want to completely demolish your opponent.
4
Goku Vs. Future Gohan
An Emotional Reunion Between Father And Son
Goku vs Future Gohan is one of the most emotional character intros we have gotten. There have been many what-if scenarios in previous Dragon Ball games, but almost none offered the Future Gohan and Goku interaction we all wanted to see.

Albeit as just a small character intro, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero finally covers the regrets Goku might have had, and the emotional strength Future Gohan has developed with everything he has been through. This small conversation is sure to tug at your heartstrings, even if just a little.
3
King Cold Vs. Frost
A Strange Interaction That Gives Birth To Many Theories
King Cold vs Frost is more bizarre than epic or emotional, but that’s what makes it so good. Seeing members of the Frieza clan interact with each other is intriguing enough, but King Cold asks Frost to be his new son. You can go into a whole rabbit hole of theories with that line alone.
Whether intentional or not, the seriousness in King Cold’s tone and then Frost respectfully declining the offer is hilarious. It’s a perfect mix of absurdity and intrigue that is sure to get a slight chuckle out of you before the battle begins.
2
Nail Vs. Lord Slug
An Unlikely But Amazing Exchange Between Namekians
Nail vs Lord Slug offers us another underrated but fascinating character interaction. Seeing Nail take responsibility as a Namekian to stop Lord Slug is very fitting for his character. The same goes for Lord Slug, who is willing to take down Nail even if he is a Namekian.
If you win the match as Nail, he will express his shock and disappointment towards a fellow Namekian with a heart of evil. Having cool moments like these littered throughout the game, even for less popular characters, is a testament to the passion and love the developers put into Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.
1
Goku Black Vs. Captain Ginyu
Battle Of The Body Thieves
The only two characters that steal other people’s bodies, there couldn’t possibly be a better pairing for a special interaction. Goku Black is intrigued by Captain Ginyu’s ability to change bodies without using the Dragon Balls, while Ginyu is shocked that someone else is doing the same shenanigans as him.

This is also one of those rare times Goku Black isn’t going on about wanting to eradicate mortals or how great he is. Instead, his tone makes him seem genuinely fascinated by Captain Ginyu. It’s interactions like these that show different sides of characters that would otherwise be hidden.
