The WWE 2K25 release date is right around the corner, with the next entry in the long-running WWE video game series set to make some major changes.
WWE 2K25 is introducing The Island, a brand-new game mode that supports up to 50 players online and features all kinds of callbacks to WWE’s past. The game will also feature popular returning modes like Showcase and MyGM, but with significant improvements. Showcase is doing away with the “slingshot tech” used in recent additions, letting players keep the focus on the in-ring action, while MyGM is adding online multiplayer and bringing back cross-brand premium live events. WWE 2K25 sounds like an incredibly exciting game on paper, and those that are already sold on it may want to consider pre-ordering.

The Island seems to be the headlining new addition of WWE 2K25. Exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, The Island in WWE 2K25 lets players explore a WWE-themed island full of quests to complete and cosmetics to unlock. It appears to be the WWE 2K equivalent of NBA 2K‘s City game mode, which has proven controversial in the past due to its focus on microtransactions. Time will tell how WWE fans react to The Island, but we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out.
The WWE 2K25 release date is currently set for March 14, though fans have the opportunity to play a full week early if they’re willing to pay extra.
