Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader will soon join PC Game Pass alongside the freshly launched Avowed in an RPG-heavy week for the subscription service. Rogue Trader is a classic-style CRPG set in the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000. You take the titular role, customizing your own Warhammer OC, assembling a crew of weirdos, and piloting a voidship through the uncharted regions of space. It’s a massive adventure that has only gotten bigger and better since its initial launch in December 2023.
Although it debuted in a rough state, Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader has received a bevy of updates and paid DLC expansions, making it one of the best RPG games in recent memory. But it goes beyond the conventional trappings of tactical combat and party management. You can battle other voidships and even found colonies to manage. Rogue Trader takes place in the remote Koronus Expanse, away from the massive battlegrounds that define games like Space Marine 2. In other words, this is a game on the margins of Warhammer 40k’s massive setting; this is where the weird stuff is.
If you have a few hundred hours to spare, Rogue Trader might make a nice chaser to Avowed’s more classical fantasy vibe. Obsidian’s latest RPG is talk of the town right now and fully launched today, February 18 straight into the Game Pass library.
As for Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader, it will join Game Pass on Thursday, February 20.
Xbox will also add two more contenders for spots on our list of the best Game Pass games before the end of the month, namely EA Sports F1 24 and Watch Dogs: Legion.
