Undisputed developer Steel City Interactive has told fans that it intends to release a new update in “early to mid-April,” with exact details on its contents to be revealed before its release. Fans haven’t had a substantial Undisputed update since December 2024, but the studio has already confirmed that it is working on several significant improvements and new pieces of content, such as robes for select fighters.
With EA’s Fight Night series having been left dormant for many years now, there’s very little competition in the boxing video game market. Although rumors are swirling that the studio is currently working on reviving the hit franchise, Undisputed is presently the only major game in the genre. Unfortunately, it’s been a rocky road for what Steel City Interactive calls “the most authentic boxing game to date.” While the title showed promise in its early access phase, fans were disappointed by the game’s full release, with player reviews mixed. With severe gameplay issues plaguing the game’s online mode, fans are still waiting to see meaningful changes.

Undisputed’s Next Update Is Still Weeks Away
Steel City closed out January by providing fans with a development update surrounding upcoming Undisputed content and patches. Aside from the addition of robes, specific details on gameplay improvements weren’t touched upon, but the studio’s CEO did say that Undisputed‘s online play was its “number one priority” and that Steel City is continuously looking at ways to improve the experience. Now, after hosting a massive playtest on Steam back in January, the studio has confirmed on Discord that it is targeting an “early to mid-April” release window for the update. Although no date is set in stone, fans aren’t happy with the extended timeframe between updates.
With numerous bugs still ruining Undisputed‘s online experience, fans are making it known that they’re not happy with the next update still being so far away. Reddit user Yomikey_1980 called the potential release window “a joke” before stating that the game’s hit registration is “poor” and noting that there is still a prominent bug that prevents the 8th round from being scored by the judges. Another user by the name of Low_Maintenance_7963 echoed a similar comment and said that Steel City “could at least” patch the 8th round bug before the next update in April, which seems to be a common request from many players. Others expressed their disappointment that they would have to continue to tolerate the 8th round bug for another two months.
The 8th-round bug might be one of the main issues bothering players, but it’s not the only improvement the community has requested. Undisputed has had severe hit registration issues ever since the game’s full launch last year. Thankfully, Steel City hosted a playtest back in January, which it said would focus on a version of the game that includes improvements to punch accuracy and changes to the way block works. The studio also said it expected the 8th round scoring bug, players losing SP despite winning a fight, and players not being given a win when their opponent quits to all be fixed with the update. Sadly, it looks like all of these issues will remain in place for almost two more months.
