It’s never been a more competitive time for online games. As a result, some titles inevitably fall by the wayside, even those that are part of pre-established universes. The Outlast Trials is definitely one such game. An online co-op take on Outlast, a series of games you’ve almost definitely seen your favourite/least favourite YouTubers scream incessantly at over the years, despite launching with some mixed reviews back in 2024, the game is sitting at a 92% positive rating on Steam these days. If that piques your interest, I’ve got some great news: it’s on sale for the cheapest price it has ever been.
As opposed to the original, single-player titles, The Outlast Trials is a multiplayer horror game that sees you and up to three other players cast as prisoners of the Murkoff Corporation. Much like its predecessors, you’ll have to avoid enemies using different tools that you can earn to help you stay stealthy. It’s also up to you whether or not you work with other players, or if you prioritize your own safety and hypothetical freedom, but it’s nice to be nice, right?
Originally retailing for $40 / £33.50, from now until next Monday February 24, you’ll be able to pick up the horror co-op title for only $16 / £13.40, a lovely discount of 60% off. Pretty hard to complain about, and you run little risk at that price! Not only is the base edition of The Outlast Trials 60% off, but the Reagant Starter Pack Edition, which comes with several different cosmetics, items, player icons and more, is also 60% off. And if you already own the game, you can pick up just the Reagent Starter Pack also at 60% off, alongside the Exotica Pack for, you guessed it, 60% off.
The hefty discount has brought more players to the game, too, as at the time of writing The Outlast Trials is sitting at a 24-hour peak of 5,189 players, a big bump from the usual 1,000 to 2,000 the game typically sits at. So if a pretty healthy sounding player base for a strong multiplayer horror title sounds like a good time to you, you can pick it up on Steam right here.
Understandably, you might not be a big fan of horror, but you do like the sound of playing some games with your friends – so how convenient is it that we’ve got a list of the best co-op games on PC? Or if you’re more interested in the survival elements of Outlast as opposed to anything else, there’s our best survival games list to help you out, too.
