Summary
- PlayStation Portal users now have eight new games to play via cloud streaming.
- New titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Top Spin 2K25 can now be streamed from the cloud with PS Plus Premium.
- Various games were also added to PS Plus Extra, but Portal users need a Premium subscription to make use of cloud streaming.
PlayStation Portal users can now directly stream eight new games to the handheld device thanks to a new batch of titles that were recently added to PS Plus Premium. When the PlayStation Portal was first released in November 2023, one significant critique from gamers was that it could not natively play games and was merely to stream titles directly from a PlayStation 5. While the Portal will always be incapable of playing games natively, a massive update now allows the device to stream directly from the cloud with PS Plus Premium.
In November 2024, Sony rolled out a new firmware update for the PlayStation Portal that unlocked cloud streaming on the device. Although the update opened the device up to a whole new market, as users no longer required a PlayStation 5 to use the Portal, there was one catch. To stream games directly from the cloud on PlayStation’s latest handheld device, users must sign up for PS Plus Premium, the most expensive subscription tier. Even then, it does not allow users to stream every game imaginable, as only select games are available to stream. Thankfully, a new batch of games has just dropped, which means there are some brand-new titles for Portal users to check out.

On February 18, Sony released nine new games across PS Plus Extra and Premium. Out of the nine new games added across the two tiers, eight of them are available to stream via PS Plus Premium, including huge hits like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Top Spin 2K25, and Mordhau. There are even some classic titles thrown into the mix too, such as Patapon 3 and Dropship: United Peace Force. But if that wasn’t enough for players, there are also newer games such as Tin Hearts, Somerville, and Lost Record: Bloom & Rage Tape 1. These titles won’t be available on the service forever, but they can be streamed directly on the Portal using PS Plus Premium right now.
PlayStation Portal Users Have 8 New Games to Stream
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Top Spin 2K25
- Mordhau
- Patapon 3

While some of the aforementioned titles, such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, are available to play on PlayStation 4 and 5 via PS Plus Extra, cloud streaming on the Portal specifically requires players to be subscribed to the service’s Premium tier. However, the good news is that PS Plus is currently on sale until February 24. For those who are looking to upgrade to the Premium tier to stream directly on the Portal, Sony is offering a massive 37% discount in the United States, taking the price down from $159.99 to just $99.99 for a whole year.
The addition of these new games comes just days after the most recent State of Play event for February 2025. The event had some big reveals and announcements, including confirmed release dates for Borderlands 4, which launches on September 23, and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which is set to release on August 28. There were plenty of other great reveals too, but PlayStation finished the event with a cinematic trailer for Saros, a new title from Returnal developers Housemarque. The new action game stars Rahul Kohli as Arjun Devraj and launches for PlayStation 5 in 2026.
