Competitive Mode Adjustments
Marvel Rivals Season 1’s first half will end on February 21, 2025, at 8 AM UTC. Players ranked Gold or above will get the Gold Rank costume, while players who reach Grandmaster and the Top 500 will earn Crests of Honor. Competitive rankings carry over into Season 1.5, players have to complete 10 matches in competitive matches to unlock new rewards.
A new redemption system is coming in this update, it allows players to convert extra seasonal tokens into units. Players with the Legendary Battle Pass can claim all rewards and can trade leftover tokens at a fixed rate.
Balance Updates and Hero Adjustments
Developers are fixing gameplay imbalances, particularly in triple-strategist compositions. Ultimate energy costs will increase for the most used healers like Cloak & Dagger and Loki. Meanwhile, vanguard and DPS heroes like Venom and Magik get some buffs. To promote more diverse team compositions Doctor Strange and Magneto will have slightly reduced survivability. However, they are not the only ones, Netease also adjusted a number of heroes in the earlier February patch update.
Marvel Rivals Championship and Hidden Name Feature
The Marvel Rivals Championship has seen huge participation, that’s why the developers have increased North America’s faction registration limits. Tournament invitations will start in late February and continue into March.
Along with all these exciting updates the most needed hidden name feature is coming to competitive mode for high-ranked players. This feature will hide player identities during the loading screen as well as the early match stages to prevent unfair targeting.
