Will Monster Hunter Wilds launch on Game Pass?
Right now, there is no plan for Monster Hunter Wilds to land on Game Pass. It won’t be there on day one like many other titles have been. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, MLB The Show 24, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were launch-day Game Pass titles. Even some upcoming hits like Clair Obscura, Avowed, DOOM: The Dark Ages, NINJA GAIDEN 4, and South of Midnight are slated for a day-one launch on the Microsoft service.
Someday, it might be on the streaming service, but not right away. Plenty of big titles eventually make their way to it, as it remains one of the most valuable gaming services out there. When the game is released on February 28, though, it won’t be. Players who wish to play will have to spend the $70 for the new title. Aside from Xbox and PC, which have Game Pass, Wilds is also available for PlayStation 5, which had a massive outage during the open beta.
Without an announcement, we can’t speculate on when Monster Hunter Wilds might land on Game Pass. We can’t even confirm that it ever will be on the service. It’s not an Xbox exclusive, so it doesn’t have that connection to Microsoft. That isn’t the be-all-end-all, but it does help get titles over there quickly.
Capcom may very well eventually strike a deal with Microsoft, but they’ll probably want to milk Monster Hunter for all its worth before then. Early sales and the first few months of a game’s life cycle are vital to the release company. Therefore, if Wilds is going to land on Game Pass, it won’t be for months.
