Emerald Stairs is the second main region in Avowed with its own Pargrun Cache, and here’s how you can get it.

This makes it easy for you to take a ton of damage, especially if the enemy is high-tier. Thankfully, Giatta is one of the companions who can help you with this while also distracting the enemies if you build her properly.

Giatta Abilities, Explained

When you unlock Giatta during the main story of Avowed in Emerald Stairs, she’ll come with three active and one passive abilities, with one of the active abilities already unlocked. If you want to use her in battle efficiently, it’s important to learn what her abilities do:

Purification

After charging for a little while, Giatta heals 25 percent HP for all allies including herself. With upgrades, you can further increase the healing you get from this while also providing damage reduction to allies.

There’s also the Essence Pressure upgrade that interrupts and knocks back all enemies caught within this ability’s radius.

Barrier

As the name suggests, Giatta forms a barrier around all allies, giving them extra bonus health as a shield. With the Impenetrable upgrade, Giatta’s barrier prevents her from being hit while also knocking back melee enemies.

You can also increase this ability’s bonus health while letting it give your allies normal health at the end.

Acceleration

The movement and attack speed for all allies is increased for 15 seconds. You can increase the length of this buff while also providing your allies with damage reduction while upgrading this skill.

Finally, with the Time Shift upgrade, all abilities used during this buff enjoy a 50 percent cooldown reduction.

Reconstruction

This is the passive ability that lets Giatta heal allies with her attacks. This ability can increase the healing on low-HP allies while granting bonus health to allies on full health after some upgrades.

She can also revive an ally after defeating an enemy if you have the Revitalize upgrade.

If you’ve progressed the game to Emerald Stairs where you get Giatta, you likely already know that the amount of upgrade points you get for companions is far lesser than your own ability upgrade points. Hence, you have to be selective with what you upgrade, and here are the best choices for Giatta:

When Should You Use Giatta?

As mentioned above, Giatta is the third companion you unlock through the main story, but you can only use two companions in your exploration party at a time. This means that you have to bench someone, and you can’t bench Giatta initially as she’s needed in the main story.

After that part, you can use Giatta if you have a fighter or assassin build where you have to be close to the enemies to defeat them. With these builds, you’ll be taking a ton of damage in battle, which can easily be negated with her healing and barrier abilities.

If you’re having trouble staying alive with these builds, you can unlock her Barrier ability first as the bonus health goes a long way.

Moreover, if you have trust in your damage, you can use her alongside Kai as he can tank a ton of damage already, and this is enhanced further with Giatta’s healing, shielding, and damage reduction.
