Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Best Swords, Ranked
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is home to a vast collection of swords, but these particular bladed weapons are easily among the best.
Heavy weapons aren’t always easy to obtain, and players will start their journey with lighter options. It’s possible to get equipped with a basic axe fairly early on, though, and players can start leveling their Heavy Weapons skills as they progress toward better weapon options. For players who don’t want to spend a lot of time comparing in-game stats, these are the best Heavy Weapons in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
10
Broad Axe
Simple Yet Effective
Stats:
- Slash: 99
- Blunt: 68
- Defence: 114
- Durability: 166
Location:
- Purchasable (Blacksmiths)
The Broad Axe is a dependable heavy weapon that’s available very early on in a player’s journey. It’s nothing spectacular compared to later axe options, but it can be picked up from Radovan, the first Blacksmith that players will meet, and will deal dependable damage to armored foes before better weapons become available. Axes deal both slashing and blunt damage, so they’re versatile in the early game where the player will be fighting a mix of unarmored and lightly armored foes.
9
Executioner’s Axe
Heads Will Roll
Stats:
- Slash: 114
- Blunt: 57
- Defence: 134
- Durability: 185
Location:
- Kuttenberg, in the mines below Hradek Fortress Gate
The Executioner’s Axe is a slightly higher damage option than the starter axes in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and can be picked up for free once players get to Kuttenberg. The axe can be found in the mines that are located below the path to Hradek Fortress Gate.
Players can also purchase the Executioner’s Axe from a Blacksmith, but why spend the Groschen? This axe offers a little less blunt force but compensates with higher slashing damage and defensive capabilities than a standard Broad Axe.
8
Captain’s Mace
The Stamp Of Authority
Stats:
- Blunt: 129
- Defence: 116
- Durability: 148
Location:
- Purchasable (Blacksmiths)
Maces are a type of heavy weapon that inflicts only blunt damage, and thus they’re mainly useful against more heavily armored opponents. The Captain’s Mace is a relatively early-game example of this dependable blunt damage option.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – 8 NPCs You Should Kill
Players would be forgiven for not shedding a tear when these NPCs are dispatched in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
The player needs to progress until they can access Blacksmith Orsina in Trosky Castle. Their vendor inventory will open up quite a few weapon upgrade options for the player at this point, including the Captain’s Mace, which can be purchased for a relatively modest 139.3 Groschen.
7
Raven’s Beak
Pecked To Death
Stats:
- Stab: 33
- Blunt: 134
- Defence: 134
- Durability: 234
Location:
- Kuttenberg, the mines below Hradek Fortress Gate
The Raven’s Beak is a Warhammer, a type of heavy weapon that can deal both blunt and stabbing (piercing) damage. The hammer head is used for blunt beatdowns, whereas the pick-shaped “Beak” end can be used to stab at opponents.
This makes these weapons ideal for battering armor and targeting exposed fleshy parts. The Raven’s Beak can be obtained in the same area as the Executioner’s Axe, in the mines below Hradek Fortress Gate in Kuttenberg, or bought from Zdimir in Grund.
6
Horseman’s Pick
Slash and Stab
Stats:
- Slash: 129
- Blunt: 64
- Defence: 155
- Durability: 128
Location:
- Looted from Taras Mura’s body during The Mouth of Hell quest line
Despite appearing to have a pick on one side of the head like some of the warhammer designs, the Horseman’s Pick is an axe and only deals blunt and slashing damage like most axes. That said, it’s a good axe, with relatively high slashing and blunt damage for the mid-game.
The stats of the Horseman’s Pick are almost comparable to the Knight’s Axe, though that remains the better option. The weapon can be looted from the corpse of Taras Mura if he’s defeated during the side quest “The Mouth of Hell.”
5
Knight’s Axe
Versatile And Stylish
Stats:
- Stab: 40
- Slash: 129
- Blunt: 64
- Defence: 155
- Durability: 215
Location:
- Crafting (Sketch found in Humble Knight’s Camp near Sedletz Monastery)
The Knight’s Axe is unique as a heavy weapon, as it can deal all three damage types: stab, slash, and blunt. This is normally something that’s reserved for the polearms weapon category. This highly effective heavy weapon can be crafted, as well as looted randomly.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – 8 Things You Should Never Buy From Merchants
While merchants have many items available in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there are some items players shouldn’t waste money on.
To do that, players will first need to locate the sketch for the crafting design. The sketch can be found in a chest in the Humble Knight’s camp, located to the Northwest of Sedletz Monastery. The chest has a medium lock, so players will need a little lockpicking skill to open it.
4
Ornate Mace
Expensive Tastes
Stats:
- Blunt: 138
- Defence: 126
- Durability: 215
Location:
- Purchasable (Blacksmith Zdimir, Grund)
The Ornate Mace can be purchased from blacksmith Zdimir in Grund and, though it’s a costly option, it’s a fairly lightweight heavy weapon that can deal decent blunt damage. All the weapons that beat out the Ornate Mace for blunt damage also weigh significantly more, so players who are worried about encumbrance might want to consider this as their heavy weapon option.
The one-handed mace can be used with a shield, making it a good option for tough one-on-one fights against armored foes. It’s an eye-watering 1246.7 Groschen to buy, though.
3
Lavish Warhammer
Classy Bludgeoning
Stats:
- Blunt: 144
- Defence: 155
- Durability: 160
Location:
- Purchasable (Blacksmith Zdimir, Grund)
Despite its hooked head, the Lavish Warhammer deals only blunt damage. It still packs a punch though, with even more blunt damage than the Ornate Mace at 144. It can be purchased from the same place as the mace, at blacksmith Zdimir in Grund.
Both options are expensive, but the Lavish Warhammer is a mere half the cost of the Ornate Mace at 600.4 Groschen. If players would rather just purchase a good heavy weapon option than seek out the top two weapons on the list, the Lavish Warhammer is a good pick.
2
Trollbane Warhammer
Put A Dent In Their Armor
Stats:
- Blunt: 148
- Defence: 124
- Durability: 213
Location:
- Bylanka Valley, Kuttenberg, near the charcoal burners’ camp
The Trollbane Warhammer is as intimidating as it sounds, dealing 148 blunt damage, the second-highest damage of any heavy weapon. Players will have to do some searching in the wilds to find it.
In Bylanka Valley in the Kuttenberg region, there is a charcoal burner camp. Near the camp is a bridge, and the hammer can be found nearby. The Trollbane Warhammer has high durability, so it can be used on its own to block, but it’s still best used with a shield in the off-hand.
1
Ramhead Hammer
Blunt Force Trauma
Stats:
- Blunt: 154
- Defence: 134
- Durability: 234
Location:
- NPC Andrew Ramhead in Raborsch (loot or steal)
The Ramhead Hammer has the highest damage of any blunt weapon. This formidable hammer can be obtained on the side quest “The Thunderstone.” The only way to get the Ramhead Hammer is to take it from its owner, either by stealing it directly or looting the chest key from the body.
The owner in question is the NPC Andrew Ramhead, who lives in Raborsch. Players will encounter Andrew, along with some companions, during “The Thunderstone” quest and get the opportunity to loot the hammer then.
