Digital artist Arifinity_ shared a poster for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow on Instagram. The snap featured Alcock in her Supergirl costume. She rocks blonde locks, the iconic “S” emblem on her blue suit is visible, and it is paired with a red skirt and matching red knee-high boots. In the background is Momoa in character as Lobo. He has his usual long hair with red eyes, a thick beard, and black markings around his eyes, which is one of his most defining visual traits. The black areas could be makeup due to his metalhead-inspired look, but some claimed it was natural Czarnian skin pigmentation. He is also holding some weapons, which appear to be his signature large gutting hook and a gun.
The fan art received thumbs up from those who saw it because they liked how it depicted Alcock as Supergirl and Momoa as Lobo. “If this is how Jason will look it will rock,” one impressed fan wrote. Another commented that the artwork was “Phenomenal,” while a different user said it was the “Best one.” Many also left fire emojis, suggesting it was on fire or extremely well. Since it was neatly and excellently done, some were wondering if the photo was official. “Is this the official poster or fan art?” a different user asked. The artist thanked @thegloriouspictures and @visualverse3d for helping them with the design. Alcock’s casting for the lead role was announced last year. Gunn said that the House of the Dragon star was the first actress in his mind when he brought up the project to DC Studios co-chairman Peter Safran. According to Gunn, he was watching the Game of Thrones prequel series and saw potential in Alcock. “[I] thought she might have the edge, grace & authenticity we needed for the DCU’s Supergirl,” Gunn explained. Meanwhile, earlier this year, he also welcomed Momoa into the project as Lobo. Momoa is the first actor from the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) to join Gunn and Safran’s rebooted DCU.
Although the photo was not official, it stirred enough excitement for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Alcock is a brilliant actress and many are looking forward to her leading the film. The addition of Momoa as the intergalactic bounty hunter only intensified the hype surrounding the project. Many felt it was a perfect casting because Momoa has long hair and a massive body build that suits Lobo’s signature appearance. Momoa admitted that Lobo was his dream role from the DC Comics. He auditioned for Batman but knew immediately that the role wasn’t for him. When he got a callback, he thought he would be cast as Lobo, but to his surprise, he was given the Aquaman role. So, playing Lobo in Supergirl is a dream come true for Momoa.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be released on June 26, 2026.
