In Lost Records: Bloom & Rage’s third chapter, Swann Holloway, 1995, we take our first trip back to Swann’s childhood in the ‘90s. This may seem like a fairly uneventful scene, but there’s a lot to see and much of it is easy to miss.

This chapter introduces a lot of the game’s key mechanics. It will give you your first chance to play with the camcorder, which lets you record memoirs and capture collectibles. You also get to customize Swann’s outfit. Plus, you get to see the consequences of your first choice in the game: the name and resulting color of your cat.
Finding The Dark Crystal
Upon entering Swann’s room, she’ll remark that she needs to return The Dark Crystal to The Movie Palace. You can find the case on the chest by the window, seated to the left of Swann’s cat. But, the tape isn’t in the case.
There’s plenty to interact with in Swann’s room, including an easily missed Secret Spot under Swann’s bed that includes a romance novel, some nail polish, and some writing that gives a glimpse of her creative ambitions.
While you look, you can stop by Swann’s closet and pick out her outfit. There are seven shorts options and four pants options.
You can also lay on the bed, which opens a reflection moment where the camera will move around the room for close-ups of Swann’s ‘90s knick-knacks. More importantly, it gives you another opportunity to pet the cat.
For all the ‘90s kids, there’s an interactive Tamagotchi on Swann’s desk.
The tape you’re looking for is in a plain white case to the right of Swann’s bed, near the closet. If you pick it up, she’ll say you need to return it to its proper case by the TV. So, remove it from this case and return to the chest by the window.
Learning To Use The Camcorder
If you try to leave at this point, Swann will say that she needs to pack the rest of her stuff. So, return to her backpack and she’ll pack the tape, then comment that she needs a snack. You can find that on her desk, then pack it. Once that’s done, the camcorder will finish backing up.
Pick it up and rotate it until you see the open slot. Close it. Now a tutorial will pop up, and you can begin to record your cat for a memoir — essentially, a filmed journal entry in the menu. Once you film two clips of the cat, you can reorder them in your menu and watch the memoir.
Once that’s done, you can move on to filming Swann’s room. For this, you need four clips. Anything that is framed by pink brackets is something you can film for the memoir. Once you get four clips, you can say you’re done and your cat will move to the window, causing Swann to notice a cardinal on a tree outside. Take a shot of this Collectible, and then you can leave Swann’s room!
