Which team will be eliminated from the LEC 2025 Winter Playoffs? Will it be TH or GX? Let’s find out whos’ more likely to be out of contetion.
TH vs GX – LEC Winter Playoffs Preview
The two teams come from a rough LEC week, having lost 2-0 from FNC and G2, respectively. While it wasn’t surprising to see them lose, it’s now a do-or-die moment.
On one hand, Team Heretics have looked quite decent considering they went with a young roster of four rookies led by veteran Flakked. That said, there is still quite a lot to work on as the team still has room for improvement. The Game 2 match against FNC proved that the team can also have its own int moments and look rather off when they are on the back foot.
In comparison, GIANTX has looked a lot more well-oiled. The team started off great but fell off towards the end of the regular split, and the team hasn’t been able to put up fights with the top teams. That said, the bot lane duo of Noah and Jun have maintained a strong level of play, especially the support player. After joining GIANTX at the start of 2024, Jackies has looked convincingly better in the mid lane. While he’s not on the level of Caps and Humanoid, I still believe the guy is underrated.
Series Breakdown
I think Noah and Jun will also be the key to the upcoming series. They have the potential to take control of the game so it will be up to Closer and Jackies to make sure they are in position to win the skirmishes.
Top laner Lot hasn’t looked particularly great but he should do a good enough job at managing his VIT’s counter part. Unless Flakked somehow overperforms, I doubt Team Heretics can upset GIANTX in the lower bracket. Overall, I’m expecting a quick series by GX and a 2-0 win.
