Horizon Could Be Oddly Perfect For a Version of a Legendary Red Dead Redemption DLC

The mainline Horizon games are well known for their DLCs but Horizon 3 could feature a far different DLC similar to one from Red Dead Redemption.

On Reddit, a user going by trashy-yupp shared their PlayStation dumpster find of at least nine sealed copies of Horizon Forbidden West for PS4. The user says that they were getting rid of their own electronic trash when they discovered the pile of games and were puzzled by it, asking fellow PlayStation enthusiasts if the games were somehow worthless. However, numerous PlayStation fans have chimed in to indicate that while they’re not particularly special, they should still be worthwhile to gamers who want to play Horizon Forbidden West, as the titles appear to be sealed and in good condition.

Why Were These PlayStation Games in the Trash?

In some instances, there have been finds of old games, unsold merchandise, and gaming consoles dumped in the trash behind game stores and big box stores like Target. In some cases, they tend to be thrown away because they were unsold or somehow damaged and had to be discarded according to store rules. However, many gamers have pointed out that this is also a technique that’s allegedly used by some unscrupulous employees to steal titles and make a profit. Numerous fans have noted that they have seen or heard of large quantities of games in perfect condition being carefully placed in the trash, often hidden inside other containers, which the dumper then reclaims later on to resell or keep for themselves, depending on the item(s).

If that was the case here, someone is likely upset that their treasure trove was discovered by a random person before they could reclaim it for themselves. It’s not clear if the new owner of all these copies of Horizon Forbidden West will resell them or give any away, but considering they got them for free, chances are they’ll be able to turn a profit even if they sell them for cheap. In any case, while this is a curious find, it may someday become something of the past, as the video game industry continues to move away from physical games.
