A new Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 trailer has just been released. It’s a cinematic trailer, properly produced cutscenes with all that prettiness, but we’ve learned a lot from it! While we can’t quite see gameplay live, we have gotten a good look at some of the new items and showcase features of the next season. It looks like we’re getting some interesting new additions.
One of the flashiest parts of the new trailer hasn’t shown up in any of the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 leaks so far. A new type of grenade launcher, that looks like it’ll be an absolute menace in upcoming games. Then we’ve got new weapons replacing the guns we had last season, and it seems like some interesting new gameplay twists are in store.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 Trailer
In the new Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 trailer, we’ve gotten a good look at quite a few new features coming soon. The most obvious are the new gameplay mechanics, which seem to be a twist on older features. These are the big alterations we can see in the trailer so far:
Train Gets a Purpose
One of the most bizarre parts of recent Fortnite seasons has been the train. It goes around the map every game, sometimes weekly quests make us land there, but it doesn’t have much of a purpose. You can grab the mythic, but that aside, there isn’t much to think about with the train. It even vanishes during some events and most players hardly notice. It’s getting spiced up a bit next season.
The train now appears to be much more heavily armored. Covered in turrets and other deterrents. Players seem to have to actually heist the train if they want the loot. Blowing a carriage open and climbing inside. Much better than hitting an interact button and waiting for it.

New Vaults
Fortnite Vaults have been a fun reward for cracking one of the best landing spots in Fortnite. Although, they have gotten a bit stale. Starting next season, it seems we’ll actually have to use heist mechanics, breaking into vaults. Not just collecting a keycard. Inside it seems there’s new takes on Fortnite medallions to be found. Adding new mechanics to actually break into the vaults is interesting, it’s been a long time since the keycard was introduced and this is the biggest change to the vault mechanics since.

New Weapons in Chapter 6 Season 2 Trailer
The major part of the tailer for many might be the new weapons. We got a good look at a new Fortnite melee weapon. This time it seems to be a bat! With some EMP effect or something. Hopefully it’s a bit less irritating than the sword. While not an issue in Builds, the melee spam item are divisive for some players, especially those in Zero Builds.

The new Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 trailer also showed of a sticky grenade launcher! The grenade launcher was always powerful, now it’s even better. This might end up being the weapon in the opening weeks. That’s along with new takes on explosives, ARs, and a fun looking shotgun.
The Fortnite Chapter 6 weapons were a highlight of Season 1 for the most part. This new change with the update could make the 2025 run of seasons a strong one for those who prefer the proper gunplay.
