The Dry Devil seems to be a fearsome man, but you will shortly learn that he has been captured. This quest will be the funniest one so far, but it will also feature one pretty difficult section. Here, we will guide you on how to complete this quest with ease.
Follow Zizka To The Devil’s Den
After your meeting with Jobst during The Sword and The Quill quest, you just have to follow Zizka for a while and talk to him, and eventually, the prompt for fast travel will appear. The journey is quite long, so it is better to fast travel there. Once you have reached the location, a cutscene will commence.
The cutscene will feature some men bullying a drunkard. That drunkard is Zizka’s friend, so you will shortly engage in a fight. Defeat the enemies and then talk to Kubyenka. He will tell you that the Dry Devil has been captured.
Now, the main objective is to rescue him, and for that, you will need some supplies. Kubyenka buried some hand cannons near his camp, but he doesn’t remember where. So, you will have to follow him a bit to find them.
Follow Kubyenka To Find The Hand Canons
Hop on your horse and follow Kubyenka. Talk to him along the way as the journey isn’t that short. When you have reached the destination, follow Kubyenka and then follow him to his camp. If you don’t already have a spade, it is better to grab one from the camp, as you will have to do some digging shortly.
Follow Kubyenka, and he will take you to a spot. You won’t find the hand canons by digging it so exhaust the dialogues and follow him to the next stop. Shortly, he will ask you to retrieve the booze from the water. You can either get the booze or simply ignore his request by selecting the third option.
Getting the booze won’t be difficult, and it won’t consume much time, so it is better to do so. After that, talk to Kubyenka and share the booze with him. Now, keep following him, and he will lead you to another spot. Start digging, and this time, it will be a grave. You can loot some items from the dead body.
Exhaust the dialogues and follow Kubyenka again, and this time, he will lead you to the right spot. Start digging, and you will find the firearms. Now, get on your horse and follow him to the ambush site. As you are traveling, Kubyenka will start singing, and it will be one hell of a song.
The song will be extremely funny, so make sure to let him sing and even praise him; this will make your journey pretty interesting.
How To Save The Dry Devil
When you have reached the ambush spot, talk to Zizka. He will ask you how it went with Kubyenka. Choose the second option, and you will witness another pretty funny interaction. After that, Zizka will tell you about his plan to ambush the enemy, and a cutscene will commence.
If you have a lot of points in any of the skills, you will succeed, and some of the enemies will flee the battlefield, making the fight easier. However, if you fail the skill check, some of your allies will flee the scene, making the fight extremely difficult.
Your gang will shoot the hand canons at the enemies, but none of them will get hit, leading to yet another hilarious moment. Shortly, you will be given three skill checks, but if you don’t have a lot of points in any, we recommend going with the first option, “I will shoot, but in your belly!”
We recommend defeating a few enemies with your hand cannon as it is already equipped. While Zizka and others are engaged in a fight, load the cannon and shoot the enemies. You should also defeat the knight in the armor with the hand cannon, as this way, you will kill him with just one shot, but do keep in mind that its reload time is way too long.
So, it is better to choose the option without the skill check. Now, fight the enemies, but beware of the enemy with a lot of armor. Try to let Zizka take him on, and you should attack him from behind. Once you have defeated all of the enemies, talk to Zizka and choose the prompt “Shall we head out?” and you will reach the Devil’s Den.
Exhaust all the dialogue options and agree to help Zizka and the Dry Devil. After that, the quest will be finished, and you will have unlocked two more quests, Into the Underworld and The Devil’s Pack. You can complete whichever one you want first.
