An old friend of Taro Sakamoto and ex-member of The Order, Nagumo is one of the most skilled and strongest assassins in the Sakamoto Days universe, placing him at the top of the assassin hierarchy in Japan.
His intelligence combined with raw power was well recognized by Taro and Rion Akao (an old friend of Taro and Nagumo from when they were students at the JCC). Nagumo is first seen in the series visiting Sakamoto to tell him of the bounty on his head. While he is initially seen as an enemy, he is later seen to be an ally and works alongside Sakamoto.

Nagumo’s combat skills are more than just his physical strength. As an assassin at heart, he is able to fight with effective techniques, dominating his opponent both physically and strategically. He is able to read an enemy’s movements and exploit weaknesses with precision. While he does possess enough brute strength, Nagumo focuses more on deception as his core strength. He also knows his way around a blade.
When using a blade, he is able to move at lightning speed to decapitate enemies easily. Nagumo’s speed is so fast that it almost looks like he dissapears when he moves, making it impossible for untrained opponents to see his next move. Thanks to his speed, he is able to avoid bullets, dodge powerful strikes and can land impactful blows on his opponents, making him one of the deadliest assassins around. There are only a few that can keep up with his speed.

Even though Nagumo looks lean, he is still able to lift heavy opponents. This is seen when he lifts Minimalist, who is a fairly large man. Nagumo also possesses tons of durability, even after taking a beating or being flung through walls, he is still able to get back up and continue fighting without faltering. Apart from his blades and fighting style, he is also knowledgeable when it comes to poison and knows how to use poison to his advantage, this means he is able to use poison effectively against an opponent or counter poison in case it is used against him. Nagumo is also an excellent marksman, giving him an advantage if he were to use long-range weaponry. He was also recognized by the JCC as one of the greatest shooters of all time.

A master of disguise and deception, Nagumo is able to copy other people’s appearances. Disguising himself to avoid being detected or tricking his opponents, Nagumo was even able to trick Shin and Lu by pretending to be Sakamoto. However, when in disguise, Nagumo is only able to last for twenty-four hours before his disguise wears off. As an effective user of blades, Nagumo carries tons of blades in his large waistcoat. Some of these blades include daggers, scythes and axes, which he can pull out if the occasion calls for it. Each blade has its own unique use and Nagumo is able to make effective use of all of them.
