Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players are just realizing that Pebbles (the game’s starting horse) has a secret perk that drastically increases her stats, making her one of the best horses in the game. While Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players can easily steal one of the many horses scattered around Trosky or Kuttenberg, a large portion of the community has remained dedicated to Pebbles the horse, despite her rather lackluster stats. Thankfully, there is one secret perk that allows players to remain loyal and also have a great horse to traverse around the Kingdom of Bohemia.
The vast and detailed world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is filled with easter eggs, quests, loot, and so much more. With so many different adventures to be had around Trosky, plenty of players are putting hours and hours into the massive RPG before they even make it to the wedding in Semine, which is where Henry is reunited with his trusty horse Pebbles. Although her stats are far from great, owning a horse allows for much faster travel and rids of the danger that comes with having to constantly steal horses. Initially, it seemed like the only real reason to stay with Pebbles was loyalty, but it looks like there is a secret perk that increases her value, speed, stamina, and more.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Players Can Increase Pebbles’ Stats With Secret Perk
When players eventually make it to Trosky Castle, one of the main quests will present Henry with a difficult decision and force Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players to choose between Pebbles and Herring. At first glance, this might seem like an easy decision, as Herring has far superior stats when compared to Pebbles. Herring has a higher stamina rating, increased speed, courage, and a much higher value. However, as players have now started to realize (thanks, PCGamer), Pebbles’ stats can actually be upgraded with a secret perk. If players remain loyal to Pebbles and ride her for more than 35km, the perk “Good Old Pebbles” will be unlocked and drastically increase her stats.

For those who might have already traded in Pebbles for Herring at Trosky Castle, there is a way to get her back. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players simply need to head to Semine and re-purchase Pebbles from the horse keeper. However, it is worth noting that Herring (the horse that can be obtained from Trosky Castle) also has a secret perk similar to Good Old Pebbles. While players will need to travel on Pebbles for over 35km to increase her stats, Herring has a perk called “Red Herring” that requires players to travel over 50km, which is substantially further and doesn’t come with a massive improvement over Pebbles. The Red Herring perk has slightly better stamina and speed than Good Old Pebbles, with every other stat remaining the same or worse.
With so much to do in Warhose Studios’ smash hit sequel, it’s no surprise that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues to smash through sales records. The studio recently revealed that the RPG had surpassed two million copies sold in just two weeks. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has also received rave reviews from both critics and players, currently boasting a “very positive” review badge on Steam with over 35,000 reviews.
