Throughout The Walking Dead‘s seven seasons, Daryl shows a lot of growth, and that makes him an engaging person to watch on the spinoff. Although he seems harsh and unlikable at first, he’s more sensitive than he appears to be.
Most importantly, Daryl becomes good friends with Carol, and Daryl and Carol’s friendship is the focus of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The spinoff perfectly balances scary moments and Daryl’s uncertainty and confusion about the future along with his personal relationships. The show gets to the heart of what people like so much about the original series: even though these characters are dealing with the aftermath of a terrifying and haunting zombie apocalypse, some of them genuinely care about each other. The Walking Dead has as many sad deaths and violent moments as vulnerable ones, and so does this spinoff.
