The latest update to Fortnite OG has arrived, this time, it’s brought back two classic items, including one that gets us a lot closer to that classic Fortnite feel. The Fortnite Boogie Bombs and Suppressed Pistol are both back in the game with the latest update. Although, we’ve also said goodbye to a particularly unique weapon. What’s changed with the Fortnite OG update?
Boogie Bombs coming back to Fortnite OG will definitely be something or players to celebrate. They’re a chaotic Chapter 1 item but emblematic of the kind of gameplay that made older Fortnite seasons such a hit. Then there’s the Suppressed Pistol. A little less exciting, but given player’s higher skills with stuff like sound in 2025 compared to when Chapter 1 was first around, suppressed weapons are more useful than they were. Boogie Bombs Back in Fortnite OG
One of the most exciting Fortnite updates to hit OG yet is the addition of Boogie Bombs. These items were a classic in Fortnite for a long time. Outside of flashback seasons though, they rarely come back anymore. They’re grenades which you toss at enemies to make them unable to do anything but dance but for a short while. Or you can scuff the throw and be locked into dancing yourself. It’s a chaotic item which is deceptively useful with Fortnite’s build your own cover mechanics. Frustrating to get boogied, but they add a lot to the game.
With this latest update they’ve been reintroduced to the loot pool. Players can start to track them down again in-game. You’ll also be able to track down the Suppressed Pistol. A gun which isn’t exactly the flashiest. Most people don’t get excited for new pistols, Mammoth aside. Although, since the average Fortnite player is now much more skilled at using sound (thanks to visual indicators), suppressed weapons are a bit more useful than they were originally.
Zapotron Leaves OG Loot Pool
The other major change to the Fortnite OG Loot Pool is the Zapotron. It’s now gone. A special item, it was initially added for about half an hour back in Chapter 1 Fortnite season 2. It was an error at the time, a Save the World gun that was included for a tiny amount of time by mistake. Only one recording even existed to prove it was ever there. But got re-added for OG for just a weekend! The Zapotron is now gone again though. It was a fun weapon to play with, but like a few things with OG, it was the short original made that gave it such allure, not how it actually played. With Boogie Bombs and the Suppressed pistol back though, we do have a more intresting loot pool again.
